Chong Hing Bank is dedicated to supporting needy people within our community, even in adverse weather conditions. On 1 June 2024, volunteers from Chong Hing Bank visited St. James' Settlement to engage in games and exercises with the elders, celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival together. The volunteers and elders talked about the customs of the festival and shared interesting daily experiences. In addition to sponsoring lunch for the day, Chong Hing Bank also provided gift packs containing fresh fruits and daily necessities to the elders. The elders also returned handmade rice dumpling ornaments, fostering a heartwarming celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival. On 15 June 2024, Chong Hing Bank volunteers and their relatives visited the homes of visually impaired in Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun. The visits were organised by the Hong Kong Federation of the Blind, allowing volunteers to show their care and concern for the visually impaired elders. They gave out gift packs containing food and items for daily use. Both our volunteers and the visually impaired elders greatly enjoyed the visits, cherishing an excellent opportunity for meaningful communication and sharing. Chong Hing Bank supports "International Coastal Cleanup Hong Kong 2023" coordinated by the Green Council for three consecutive years. To keep Hong Kong’s coastal clean and raise public awareness of coastal conservation, Chong Hing Bank volunteers participated in the beach cleanup activity at Wu Kai Sha Beach and Stanley Main Beach on 14 October 2023 and 5 November 2023 respectively. The Bank’s volunteers and their relatives and friends joined hands to protect the coastal environment by removing glass pieces, plastic waste and other coastal debris on the beaches. The coastal trash data which collected by the volunteers was then provided to the Green Council for analysing and understanding the situation and causes of coastal pollution, and better planning on educational purposes and promotion of coastal pollution prevention. Chong Hing Bank will continue to encourage its staff members to participate in various environmental protection activities, take practical actions to protect the environment and support educational programs to raise environmental awareness. Let’s go green together! #ChongHingBank #Banking #coastalcleanup #environmentalpromotion #InternationalCoastalCleanupHongKong #GreenCouncil
