Exciting news about TotalEnergies Angola partnership with Bob Eco Angola whereby the very first electric motorbike refueling station or battery swapping station was opened in Luanda. This pioneering initiative marks a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable future for transportation in the country. During the inauguration event, Claire Dutertre, the Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Angola, highlighted the company's commitment to establishing more electric motorbike refueling stations across Angola annually. This effort not only aligns with sustainable development goals but also aims to drive job creation and support youth entrepreneurship. Notably, this new facility offers convenient battery exchanges from 7 am to 7 pm, with a quick two-hour charging time. Antonio Quilanda, Bob Eco Angola Commercial Director, shared that the company's unique approach allows young individuals and corporations to access electric motorcycles without upfront costs. Today, we are launching a ground-breaking sustainable transportation project aimed at fostering a greener future, employment, and entrepreneurship in #Malawi. Together with Mr. Simplex Chithyola Banda, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, we have reached an agreement to realize this vision by starting to supply the first batch of 50,000 Bob Eco electric motorbikes accompanied by strategically placed hubs. Together we aspire to revolutionize transportation in Malawi. These electric motorbikes will be made accessible to young individuals at an affordable all-inclusive rental price, ensuring a package that covers everything from rental fees, registration, battery swapping and charging, insurance, maintenance, and a safe driving course. Each hub will serve as a comprehensive swapping station housing the Bob Eco electric motorbikes, battery swapping stations, and solar panels to generate sustainable electricity for battery charging. The drivers will be able to swap batteries in less than a minute! By offering these eco-friendly mobility options, we are supporting the government's vision of a greener future for Malawi.  The key objectives of this sustainability project are extraordinary, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions, fossil fuels, and noise pollution. Moreover, we are dedicated to creating job opportunities for young individuals, promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment. With the establishment of local assembly and management units, we are fostering sustainable growth and contributing to the local economy.  Together, we believe that this project has the potential to make a significant impact not only on environmental challenges but also on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Wow, what a ride COP28 was! Working with Hub Culture at the Supercool Mobility Centers in the heart of Dubai's DMCC with the support of Ahmed Bin Sulayem was nothing short of inspiring and I loved every minute of it! It's one thing to talk about making a difference, but being in the thick of it, surrounded by people who are actually walking the walk? That's a whole other level of awesome.   I saw firsthand how the pandemic's silver lining wasn't just about cleaner air; it was a wake-up call. Companies like Peter Somers Bob.eco seriously stepping up and changing the game by pushing us towards shared mobility while significantly cutting back on carbon emissions using their orange e-bikes and simultaneously creating jobs across Africa and Mexico impressed me enormously. It's not just talk; it's the future happening right now.   But it wasn't all work and no play. The buzz from Formula E's presence at Supercool was electric (pun intended!). Their drive (another pun, sorry!) towards sustainable motorsports is exactly the kind of energy we need to fuel this global shift. And let's not forget the powerful insights from the Haliti-Paresi tribe who brought their culture all the way from Mato Grasso, Brazil to emphasize that indigenous people like them are at the greatest risk. Their stories are a stark reminder of why we're all doing this — for our planet and for future generations.   As a serial entrepreneur and a parent, I'm more motivated than ever. We're not just talking about reducing carbon footprints; we're actively building a world where sustainable transportation is the norm. And with every conversation, every partnership, and every innovation, I can see that future getting closer.   So here's to the movers, the shakers, and everyone at COP28 who's making sustainability more than just a buzzword.
