Eco-friendly Activity at Asahi HK Office: Transforming used Coffee Grounds into Soap! On 14th March, also known as the “White” Day, Hong Kong office colleagues came together for a unique and #sustainable experience - transform recycled coffee grounds, a "dark" waste product, into beautiful soap with our style and colors! 🌿♻️ We had the pleasure of having the inspiring #Ecogreenery team host the workshop and share their mission and vision for recycling and the innovative use of recycled coffee grounds to reduce waste and promote #sustainability. Having first-hand experience in #repurposing everyday recycled materials was an eye-opening and memorable experience for all of us!! We support the idea of giving waste a second life, and we are pleased to see the same passion in the students from the Institute of Vocational Education (IVE). In collaboration with Eco-Greenergy, we held a workshop where IVE students learned how to upcycle coffee grounds and use tie dyeing techniques to create handkerchiefs and tote bags. The workshop not only showcased the value of upcycling, it also provided an opportunity for IVE students to express their creativity, embrace eco-consciousness, and experience the joy of sustainable artistry. Our Des Voeux Road Central Project Team, together with the Environmental Team in collaboration with the Eco-Greenergy organized a "Coffee Grounds Upcycling Workshop." The event showcased the process of upcycling and repurposing coffee grounds, allowing participants to observe, feel, and experience the journey of giving Hong Kong's locally recycled coffee grounds a second life. It also provided an opportunity for participants to learn about environmental conservation and apply that knowledge to their daily lives. After the experience, participants can apply what they have learned to transform coffee grounds into handmade soap.

On Wednesday, we hosted a "Coffee Grounds Soap Making Workshop☕" for our colleagues, partnering with Eco-Greenergy. We all discovered the amazing ways coffee grounds can be used, making eco-friendly soaps and reducing waste together. Not only did the workshop bring our colleagues closer, but it also sparked a community of eco-warriors in our office. Another exciting news: besides providing dried coffee grounds for our colleagues to take home freely, we've now started engaging Eco-Greenergy to collect all the wasted grounds from our office every month.
