Ekhi Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of 44 MW #SolarProjects in Spain Ekhi, the Spain-based solar business of Dutch energy transition platform Return, has announced the acquisition of two #solarphotovoltaic projects in the Zaragoza province of #Spain, adding over #44MW to its growing portfolio in the country. The projects were purchased from Spanish solar contractor Enerland, with financing provided by Banco Sabadell. Plenitude Begins Construction of #220MWSolarPlant in Spain Plenitude noted that this will be among the largest solar facilities in Castilla y León, with an estimated yearly output surpassing 400 GWh. The #solarfarm, spanning 286 hectares, will be connected to the #Spanish national grid through a 3.2 km medium-voltage underground cable at the Villarino de los Aires connection point. Terra Firma Launches R1.3bn #solarPVprogramme in South Africa Renewable energy company Terra Firma has unveiled an ambitious large-scale solar energy programme aimed at providing customers with #WheeledEnergy starting in August 2026. This R1.3 billion initiative will deliver a total of 110 MW of wheeled energy services upon completion. CEO Grant Berndsen emphasized that the project is designed to offer the lowest-cost electricity in light of rising #tariffs from Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, which are projected to increase significantly. Terra Firma is concurrently developing #twosolarPVprojects in Gauteng: the 87 MW #Hammanskraal and 23 MW #Rietfontein plants. This project is poised to be one of the largest solar parks in the country as it moves closer to its commercial operations date. The solar park spans an impressive 83.8 hectares of low-agricultural-value land near #Schiebsdorf. Notably, it employs advanced #BifacialSolarPanels designed to enhance energy output by capturing sunlight from both sides. Electrum's Lithuanian Unit Completes 22-MW #SolarPVFarm for Ignitis Renewables Polish energy services firm Electrum Holding has announced that its Lithuanian subsidiary, #Everto, has successfully completed a 22-MW photovoltaic (PV) farm for local counterpart Ignitis Renewables in Taurage, a town in western #Lithuania. #Everto undertook the entire project, from site preparation to the final connection to the power grid, leveraging resources from the broader Electrum group. Responsibilities included cabling, grounding, and the assembly of #inverters and #PVmodules. The 36.5-hectare facility is now fully operational, as confirmed by Electrum Holding last week. Scout Clean Energy, a Colorado-based firm under the management of Brookfield Asset Management, now owns the project, which features 200 MW DC of photovoltaic (#PV) capacity along with a 40-MW/160-MWh battery energy storage system(#BESS).
