Goodnotes Classroom has been carefully designed to streamline workflows, enhance student engagement, and empower educators to deliver more personalized and impactful learning experiences. A huge thanks is due to our pilot teachers, schools, and students who have collaborated with us this past year to refine Goodnotes Classroom. Our Goodnotes Scholarship winner has officially started her place at National Mathematics and Science College. This year, Goodnotes offered a generous, 50% boarding scholarship to young learners all over the world. The candidates needed to demonstrate that they are focussed on STEM subjects and that they are determined to overcome challenges along the way. This was a vigorous process, and it was incredibly difficult to select a winner. However, Chinemerem A. was clearly able to demonstrate her passion for STEM along with a commitment to studying a STEM subject at university. She was enthusiastic about her experiences in this field in the past and is determined to make a difference in the world. What better place for her to accomplish this dream than at the National Mathematics and Science College, which is perhaps the most highly regarded STEM specialist school in the UK. We asked Chinemerem a few questions about her experience and her expectations: Please could you tell me about your schooling experience to date? I went to Northampton School for Girls prior to NatMatSci. Although it wasn’t STEM focused, the school did provide opportunities for the students to participate. Unlike many of the schools in Northampton, they provided a range of opportunities and encouraged us to become more interested in STEM related subjects. My science and math teachers were mostly females, who always made the effort to make lessons interesting and fun. Additionally, they demonstrated that women can be successful in STEM, which helped my views on what I could do in science shift. What made you a great candidate for this scholarship? I am incredibly passionate about STEM, which I feel I conveyed clearly both in the application and the interview. Moreover, I believe that I was able to demonstrate my willingness to work towards my goals through the STEM programmes I participated in throughout my time in secondary school. Finally, I also think that I was able to be open-minded about my experiences, which is very useful in STEM. What interests you most about STEM? I’ve been interested in science from a young age. Learning how even the smallest things could have such intricate existences made me see the world at large, and helped me understand it better. This still applies to me now - I feel that STEM still helps me in ways I never would have imagined it would have before. For instance, I found that many principles in computer science can be applied in subjects such as art, English, and even PE! By applying my base knowledge in those subjects, I was able to improve in them in a way I wouldn’t have been able to do without it.

Thanks to Claudia Barwell and Jim Knight for welcoming Goodnotes to the House of Lords yesterday. We are all immensely grateful for the time we spent discussing a range of subjects concerning artificial intelligence, education and technology - and what an inspiring space to do that in! That we were able to wrap up the afternoon with an exceptional tour proved to be the icing on the cake 🍰 We all look forward to onward collaboration, particularly as Goodnotes continues to grow and develop in the education space
