Henderson Land Inter-school Wushu Competition 2024 Officially Kicks Off! Yesterday, the Henderson Land Inter-school Wushu Competition 2024 officially launched at Metro City Plaza II! As the exclusive sponsor, we are thrilled to see an incredible turnout of over 1,000 young martial artists eager to showcase their skills and passion for wushu. The stunning ballroom, Cloud 39, atop The Henderson, came alive as 160 aspiring young minds gathered to meet our remarkable HKU Lee Shau Kee Top Athletes Scholars. Our stellar athletes—Cindy Cheung Sum Yuet (swimming), Magnus Prostur Johannsson (athletics), Chloe Pak Hoi Man (athletics), and Rafeek Kikabhoy (windsurfing)—inspired the room with their powerful stories, showing secondary school students that dreams know no bounds. These champions exemplify how passion and dedication can lead to success in both sports and academics. Since 2022, the Lee Shau Kee Foundation's "HKU Lee Shau Kee Top Athletes Scholarship" has empowered 20 exceptional athletes to pursue their aspirations, with some even representing our city at the Olympics! Transforming a Residential Care Home for Older Adults into a Chinese Tea House!   The Henderson Warmth Volunteer Team recently participated in the Hong Kong Women Development Association's Chinese tea house initiative, bringing joy and the traditional tea house experience to older adults living in a care home.   During the event, our dedicated volunteers served as "dim sum ambassadors", providing meals designed to resemble dim sum for those with dietary restrictions, and created a festive atmosphere through conversations and songs. Empowering the Next Generation: A Memorable Visit from the Strive and Rise Programme to The Henderson   We were honoured to welcome mentors and mentees from the Strive and Rise Programme for an enriching visit last weekend to The Henderson, our super Grade-A commercial development project. The exclusive tour provided a unique opportunity to showcase the remarkable journey of The Henderson, which surmounted numerous challenges in the course of development to emerge as an iconic landmark in Hong Kong today.   During the visit, the participants explored The Henderson's innovative design and sustainability features. Johnny Yu, Head of Sustainability, and Vincent Yeung, one of our talented young architects who has been an integral part of The Henderson's design and development, shared their personal insights. They encouraged the participants to courageously pursue their dreams, viewing challenges and even failures as growth opportunities. They reminded us of the wise words of Thomas A. Edison: "I have not failed. Henderson Land Spreads Mid-Autumn Joy at Kong Ha Wai Village   Last night, the transitional housing community of Pok Oi Kong Ha Wai Village came alive with festive cheer as residents gathered to celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.   Building on last year's tradition, we once again team up with the Henderson Warmth Volunteer Team to spread joy throughout the community. Together, we distributed 2,000 goodie bags to the households in the village, as well as to the youth and elderlies.
