    This weekend, I want to take a moment to reflect on my career journey and share it with you all. I started as a retail banking staff member in Hong Kong, gradually advancing to an Insurance Specialist and Retail Relationship Manager. My transition into Business Development began when I joined AIA International Ltd Bancassurance, which expanded my network across various levels of the banking and insurance sectors. Working for a company, I was fortunate to also experience significant individual growth. After a year of leading the Bancassurance team, I realized it was time to chart my own path. In 2016, I took the leap and founded JAT HK, a recruitment agency specializing in the banking and insurance industries. With the support of C-suite leaders and the skill set I had honed in the corporate world, the business flourished. Within just 1.5 years, I surpassed my corporate earnings. In 2020, I partnered with two others to expand the business into Singapore, focusing on international banking, private banking, and EAM recruitment. The shift from a 9-to-5 corporate role to becoming an entrepreneur gave me the freedom to control my pace and working hours. The key lessons I’ve learned along the way? Be bold, be confident, and always think big. Time and place should never be barriers to success. Now, living in Canada with my husband and 4-year-old boy, I continue to work remotely and manage our Hong Kong and Singapore operations seamlessly. The effort you invest and the lessons you learn in the corporate world become invaluable assets that will serve you for a lifetime. Don’t limit your potential—think big and aim high.
