About us

Maximal Concepts, led by Malcolm Wood, Xuan Mu and Matt Reid, is the company behind some of Hong Kong’s most loved and iconic restaurants. With over 18 brands, all individually crafted, designed and positioned, Maximal Concepts operates and contributes to all aspects in the restaurant and lifestyle industries. Maximal Concepts consists of Brickhouse, Limewood, Fish & Meat, Blue, Mercedes me, and Double D. It is best known for the highly awarded Mott 32, a pioneering modern Chinese Restaurant, now spearheading authentic Chinese cooking globally with three international locations. We pride ourselves on the quality and resonance of our work. An average weekly footfall of over 8,000 independent high quality customers over our venues is proof that we have a strong team producing some of Hong Kong’s most successful concepts. We have a very strong online and social media presence with full time daily content updating and a reach that is in excess of 5,000,000 active users. Our collective ‘likes’ are in excess 100,000 across our Facebook pages. We were the first company to hold Twitter debates at one of our establishments. We are pioneering the integration and application of social media platforms. The directors of Maximal are all classically trained in finance and so despite our creative drive we have a very strong business strategy and financial focus. This has lead to a business model that is not only receiving design awards but also exceeding all of our shareholders expectations. At the core of Maximal Concepts we have a very simple vision. To bring great design, awesome flavours, memorable experiences at a better price and in a format that has soul and resonance to your life.
