𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟔𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚-𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐀𝐁𝐔) 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 in Istanbul brought together over 500 representatives from 64 countries to explore the theme of "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐈, 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲". Eddie Cheung, Director of Broadcasting, moderated the Super Panel of the General Assembly, where global leaders from broadcasting unions discussed AI's transformational impact on the broadcasting industry. The RTHK delegation also shared views and experiences on transitioning to smart broadcasting and highlighted Hong Kong's openness to innovation. RTHK's achievements were recognised at the ABU Prizes 2024. The English news report on AI, "𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐈: 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐕 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬,"received a special commendation in the "Radio ABU Perspective Awards" category for its outstanding quality. Additionally, the radio drama "𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲," a joint presentation by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, Family Council, and RTHK, was among the finalists for the "Radio/Audio Drama Awards. The programme was also showcased at the summit, highlighting its role in promoting music cultural heritage and media integration. This annual Award Concert aims to encourage musicians and promote Hong Kong's pop music culture. The concert's performances blend Eastern and Western styles, classic and modern, showcasing Hong Kong's inclusive musical landscape. It was broadcast live across radio, television, and new media, reaching audiences worldwide. Over 40 videos were released, accumulating more than 100 million views across various platforms.
