About us
The Menopause Space is dedicated to delivering evidence-based advice and resources to women, partners, families, and businesses. Our mission is to revolutionise the way perimenopause and menopause are perceived across Hong Kong and beyond. Our podcast is a forum for discussion around all aspects of this transition, from sex and intimacy to societal views of ageing women. We believe that menopause should not be stigmatised or viewed only as a decline of childbearing years. Unfortunately, a recent survey found that almost a third of medical professionals are uncomfortable talking to patients about menopause. We're here to change that. Our founder, Lisa Tarquini, has firsthand experience of the symptoms and challenges of menopause. She's joined by a range of guests on the podcast on a wide variety of topics. The Menopause Space offers comprehensive training programmes for individuals and organisations to become leaders in menopause advocacy and create menopause-friendly workspaces. Join our all-inclusive community and gain a greater understanding of this potentially challenging life stage. We're committed to empowering individuals and organisations to better support women during this important phase of their lives. Let's start the conversation and break down the stigmas around menopause together!

Intersectionality – ADHD x Transgender x Endometriosis - and Menopause Managing the menopause transition can feel like playing the lottery—you never know what symptoms will arise or how severe they might be. Although menopause is a natural phase that affects half of the global population, no two experiences are the same. There is no parallel in healthcare for something so universally unpredictable, and certainly nothing comparable that impacts men worldwide. This panel discussion will spotlight the diverse lived experiences of hormonal transitioning and the impact it had in social and workplace environments, affirming why there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to menopause. Huge congratulations to The Women's Foundation on their 20th Anniversary event Evolution through Exchange Summit. What a day of incredible conversations, learning and networking all for the purpose of closing the gender equality gap. I was blown away by the opening remarks from Fiona Nott and Sian Hooper and I can still hear Sian's question to the captivated audience 'What will I do today that makes tomorrow better'? A question we should all ask ourselves before we start the day. The Menopause Space had the privilege of hosting a table about the services we provide and stood alongside some giants in the DEI space. 💡 Menopause. Is it a women’s issue or a workplace issue? Should women be given special working adjustments for a natural life event or should they tackle it in private? The last taboo of women’s health in the workplace, menopause intersects with a crucial career stage as it naturally occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. The average age of menopause is 51, with some women experiencing perimenopause symptoms up to 10 years prior to their Final Menstrual Cycle. That could mean that millions of women either perimenopausal or postmenopausal will be climbing the career ladder into leadership positions whilst experiencing hot flashes, cognitive impairment, poor sleep, fatigue and anxiety. Join us on World Menopause Day, 18 October to be part of thought-provoking conversations that challenge current perspectives on menopause and how it is supported in the workplace. 📣 Wherever you are across Asia Pacific, you can join the conversation. 💻 Click here to view the programme and speaker line up, as well as purchase your ticket - www.whatthefog.org #organisationalchange #menopauseinclusion #genderequity #knowledgegap #menopausegap
