Deputy General Manager, Legal Affairs & Risk Management Department

Duties

  • Lead L&RM team to liaise, work with and be partner with other departments in accomplishing CSD’s set risk management KPI, as well as the annual target/KPI set within Florens
  • Lead L&RM team in planning, developing, enhancing, implementing and executing the overall legal & risk management framework and mechanism in Florens, ensure such framework and mechanism is effective in managing and safeguarding Florens’ risks on daily business development
  • Lead Risk Management (“RM”) and Internal Control (“IC”) team to work out with all departments in identifying potential risk areas in departmental daily works, understanding and assessing the magnitude of the impact of such risk areas and the likelihood of occurrence; then advise and work out with departments in building up relevant policies, guidelines, controls and workflow in managing those identified risks accordingly
  • Lead L&RM team to lead, coordinate, and work out with relevant departments in case of any customer disaster incidents and/or unexpected disaster incidents
  • Lead RM team to manage credit risk, including establishing credit control policy and procedures, handling credit applications, conducting credit assessments, developing and enhancing credit approval mechanism and re-assessing of existing customer credit quality
  • Lead and perform accounts receivable management, management over follow-up/watch list and disaster customers to manage and mitigate credit exposures
  • Lead RM team to explore viable risk transfer tools, to secure and maintain container and customer portfolios with different insurance coverage
  • Lead legal team to be partner with different departments, understand their needs and provide advice and consultancy on legal and compliance matters
  • Lead legal team in performing contract management, including but not limited to developing contract templates for different departments in their own business aspects
  • Lead legal team in safeguarding Florens from legal disputes from daily operations
  • Lead IC team in building, enhancing the overall internal control framework, ensure such framework is up-to-date and effective in preventing and DETECTING control weaknesses and deficiencies
  • Lead IC team to work out with all departments in ensuring their policies are timely updated and complying with the Group requirements
  • Lead IC team to assist Group auditors or external auditors in on-site due diligence and investigations
  • Cultivate L&RM team, if possibly, other departments, with risk-focused and sensitive mindset in legal affairs & risk management and with control mindset and skills
  • Lead, assist and perform ad hoc projects or tasks assigned by Top Management

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Risk Management, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or holder of Financial Risk Management (FRM) from any recognized international associations
  • Any other qualifications, e.g. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), is a plus
  • At least 12 years' work experience (at least 6 years at managerial level), preferably with risk management or relevant experience
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua
  • Strong report writing skills in Chinese is highly preferred
  • Strong listening and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving orientation and solid organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and logical mindset
  • Solid leadership and coaching attributes
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Senior Manager
