1) About Us:

Asahi Europe & International ("AEI") is part of Asahi Group Holdings, a global beer, spirits, soft drinks, and food group with leading positions in European and Asia-Pacific markets, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Japan. Asahi Beer Asia (ABA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Europe & International (AEI) dedicated to growing the Group's global and premium brands in Asia. We currently focus on five key markets - China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan – and are committed to delivering on our great taste promise to customers across the region.


2) About the role:

The Head of Sales Excellence, Asia plays a key role in realizing our 2030 ambition of being the No.1 or No. 2 premium market players in key markets across Asia. He or she will be supporting the Regional Sales Director to focus on driving the overall Sales strategy planning and execution, optimizing sales force effectiveness across all markets in Asia, and building a regional key account management mechanism, including but not limited to South Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other distribution markets.


The job holder will need to work closely with the management team to define short-term (1-3 years) and medium-term (3-5 years) commercial strategies and synthesize sales and marketing data and metrics to monitor, evaluate, and adapt commercial plans to optimize business performance. They will also need to continuously optimize current plans to achieve performance by working closely with PRGM for Asahi business development to achieve 2030 business goals with and through driving execution excellence.


The main responsibilities include but not limited to:

Sales Force Effectiveness/Sales Excellence:

  1. Analyze sales data and provide recommendations to optimize sales operations, implement new sales strategies, and develop new processes and procedures.
  2. Identify any gaps in the market and then create sales targets and initiatives to address the needs of both Asahi and the customer. Look for opportunities in the market and allocate challenges to different regions, channels, and key accounts based on market performance and company objectives for the short-term (1-3 years) and long-term (10-year) strategy (IAP, MTP, 10-year strategy).
  3. Collaborate closely with the PRGM function to drive business performance by implementing and executing aligned initiatives and key market actions. These initiatives may include industry, volume, share, value chain, discounts, mix, and margin pool, with the main goal of balancing revenue, volume, and share growth. Initiatives should be translated into compelling stories tailored to the target audience with clear success criteria and KPIs should be established to track performance.
  4. Adopt a holistic understanding of the market to lead cross-functional business priorities implementations, including tradeoffs of priorities. Ensure that plans are properly distributed in the calendar with the right tracking KPIs to guarantee optimal execution. Drive the planning and implementation of digitalizing unified CRM tools across Asia to improve operation efficiency.
  5. Drive and lead the Sales Incentive Scheme structure, key measurements, and performance tracking to motivate the sales force to thrive.
  6. Lead and drive Sales Productivity across Asia markets based on Sales Capability enhancement. This includes but is not limited to individual sales performance dashboards published in all markets, performance tracking, coaching, and mentoring to sales teams/individuals.


Regional Key Account Management:

  1. Develop and execute sales strategies for key accounts managed, including developing business development targets, budgeting, and KPIs through segmentation and accounts classification. Build, manage, and extend relationships with key customers in the region to achieve OKRs and KPIs
  2. Actively develop new key accounts from an Asia regional perspective, including, but not limited to, both on and off channels, such as regional hotel chain groups and regional restaurant chain groups, to expand the client database and maintain positive relationships with all clients.

Qualification:

Minimum holds a university degree.


Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of working experience, including 5 years in Strategy Planning, Sales Force Effectiveness, and Key Account Management.
  • Experience in managing complex cross-functional projects from various spheres of business.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with strong commercial skills focused on sales operation excellence and experience in setting long-term business strategies.
  • Outstanding business and finance acumen.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Strong capability and proven experience in translating business problems/opportunities into strategies, action plans, and clear objectives.
  • Strong understanding of principles of data processing and development of data processing platforms & databases, with good conceptual and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex matrix organization and manage stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.


Language requirement:

  • Proficient in both English and Mandarin, with a knowledge of Japanese is an added advantage.
