Job Description

IBKR seeks a bright and organized professional to serve as a Junior Legal Documentation Specialist / Paralegal to work on APAC banking and brokerage-related projects.

This position requires a highly organized person who can multitask and quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Understanding business needs and preparing documentation requested by IBG’s affiliates in the Asia/Pacific region and globally.
  • Reviewing contracts and correspondence; obtaining necessary approvals from Compliance, Legal and Regulatory departments.
  • Reviewing and preparing banking documentation (including AML and KYC documents)
  • Ensuring the bank account opening process complies with regulatory requirements
  • Communicating with local/foreign banks, exchanges and clearing houses
  • Drafting corporate resolutions and certificates authorizing strategic business transactions
  • Responding to queries from internal and external auditors
  • Maintaining a legal documentation database
  • Administer new entries or amend existing entries on the SWIFT address book.
  • Documenting the status of the account opening process on Confluence for all internal stakeholders
  • Upkeeping and renewing signatory lists with banks
  • Preparing documents quarterly for test loan drawdowns
  • Liaising between auditors and banks on annual audit confirmations
  • Performing monthly statistical Treasury analyses and stress tests
  • Participating in various ad hoc Treasury projects

Qualification

  • University graduate from a reputable university
  • Paralegal experience is preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in a legal setting or the financial services industry is a plus
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (Macro-proficiency is a plus) and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
