Position Description

Fabretto seeks to hire a Program Director based in Honduras or Guatemala to lead the implementation of programs, provide technical assistance, and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of programs, in collaboration with our local partners. This is an exciting opportunity to lead Fabretto’s new chapter as we expand our reach across Central America.


Fabretto has a small, dynamic, and geographically dispersed team. The Program Director will work collaboratively with Fabretto’s team (based in the U.S., Spain, and Central America) and report to the CEO of Fabretto. He/she will supervise technical staff consultants and liaise closely with local partners. The ideal candidate is flexible, proactive, and capable of meeting goals independently. Please note that the candidate should be bilingual with advanced proficiency in English.


Minimum Qualifications

·       A minimum of 5 years' experience in nonprofit, project, or program management, with at least 2 years of work experience in the education field.

·       Bachelor's degree in education, social work, international development, or related fields.

·       Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Spanish.

·       Proven experience working successfully with a diverse range of stakeholders.

·       Proven experience working in rural communities in Central America.

·       Resourceful, self-starter, and proactive; comfortable working independently and connecting remotely with colleagues and partners.

·       Collaborative, relationship-oriented, and able to communicate effectively.

·       Experience with virtual/remote work.

·       Must be willing to travel (up to 50%) to remote communities in Central America (primarily Honduras and Guatemala, with the possibility to expand in the future).


Desired Qualifications

·       Master's degree or postgraduate certificate in education, social work, international development, or related fields.

·       Experience managing and reporting on large projects with funds from donors like USAID, the Spanish government, and private foundations.

·       Technical expertise in monitoring and evaluation.


Specific duties of the Program Director will include the following:


Program and Project Management: The Program Director will support the implementation of Fabretto’s portfolio of projects, which are implemented in partnership with local NGOs in Honduras and Guatemala. He/she will manage the programs staff and consultants (currently 6 individuals, with the possibility of growing in the future) hired to provide technical expertise and deliver programs alongside our partners in Honduras and Guatemala.

o  Contribute to the development and design of projects.

o  Collect baseline information from participants and target communities.

o  Create project execution plans and track progress toward goals and deliverables.

o  Ensure project execution on the ground, in collaboration with Fabretto and local partner staff.

o  Provide technical guidance on the implementation of education, nutrition, and youth development programs.

o  Provide in situ technical assistance and monitoring of project development.

o  Write and review project documents and reports.

o  Report to the CEO and Board of Directors on programs results and provide recommendations.


Partnership Cultivation: The Program Director will support Fabretto’s leadership team in developing strategic partnerships and cultivating the growth and strengthening of those partnerships.

o  Represent Fabretto to existing and potential partners, as well as community stakeholders, in Central America.

o  Meet regularly with local partners (virtually and in person) to develop and follow up on joint programming and project plans.

o  Conduct field visits to local partner projects and to potential partners.

o  Organize partner exchange events.

o  Accompany visits made by the CEO of Fabretto and donors to partners and Fabretto projects.


Budget: The Program Director will, in collaboration with other members of the Fabretto leadership team, execute and monitor project budgets.

o  Prepare and monitor project and program budgets.

o  Review and adjust financial projections as needed, with support from the Director of Finance.

o  Ensure the timely execution of activities in the project budgets.


Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, and Learning: The Program Director will contribute to the implementation of Fabretto’s M&E strategy.

o  Implement a monitoring, evaluation and learning strategy alongside local partners to ensure quality project implementation and generate learnings for future projects.

o  Conduct diagnostic and baseline assessments in collaboration with project teams and local partners.

o  Develop reports and presentations to capture the work and the impact made by Fabretto on the ground, and, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing, contribute to the development of strategic communications shared with external stakeholders.


Compensation

The compensation and benefits package for the Program Director will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s background and experience.
