At #ISPRM2024 in Sydney 🇦🇺, Professors Rajiv Reebye (University of British Columbia 🇨🇦) and Klemen Grabljevec (President, ESPRM 🇸🇮) officially launched the new ISPRM Spasticity Special Interest Group (SIG) 🎉, uniting experts worldwide 🌍 to improve the treatment and management of spasticity 🧠💪. In a joint interview 🎙️, they emphasized their mission: raising global awareness 📣, promoting equitable access to spasticity treatments ⚖️, and identifying underserved "white spots" 🗺️ where care is still lacking. With over 45 members already registered ✅ and a successful first meeting held at the Congress 🤝, the SIG is committed to strengthening education 📘 from medical school to residency, fostering research collaborations 🔬, and empowering patients 💬👥. «We must bridge the gap between research and clinical application» 🧩, said Dr. Grabljevec. Prof. Reebye added: «This is a global effort 🌐—through advocacy, education, and unity 🤝, we can improve care worldwide.» The SIG’s launch also marks the 25th anniversary 🎂 of ISPRM—a perfect occasion to spark new momentum 🚀 in this vital field.
