Attending the 34th Reha-Kolloquium Stadt Nürnberg, organised by the German Society for Rehabilitation Research #DGRW. They are celebrating their 25th anniversary. I had the honour of being interviewed by prof. Thorsten Meyer-Feil in the celebration ceremonial session. I highlighted the #WHA76 Resolution on "Strengthening rehabilitation in health systems" and called for Health Policy and Systems Research #HPSR. On behalf of Cochrane Rehabilitation, Stefano Negrini gave a Plenary Lecture titled "The struggle for evidence in rehabilitation. A look into the future". It was amazing to be in this beautiful city and visit its memorial sites, remembering World War II and the Trials afterward, which are so important in the history of humanity, more actual than ever. We look back at a very inspiring and productive strategic meeting of the 16 units of our Cochrane Thematic Group at Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio in Milan. Our colleagues traveled from all corners of the world for this historic meeting: Canada, the USA, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Jordan, Australia, New Zealand, and several regions in Italy. Big steps were taken to set up collaborations and prepare our first working plan! We are deeply saddened to hear of Margaret's passing. Publication[s] profile: "Designing studies and reviews to produce informative, trustworthy evidence about complex interventions in rehabilitation" In 2024, a group of articles were published in the European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine about generating robust, reliable evidence for rehabilitation interventions - based on discussions at the 5th Cochrane Rehabilitation Methodological Meeting in Milan in 2023. This paper, led by William Levack, offers key considerations and strategies for designing studies and reviews that not only adhere to rigorous scientific standards but also reflect the complexity and individualisation inherent in rehabilitation practices. Zowel de Nederlandse Vereniging van Revalidatieartsen als Revalidatie Nederland kennen een werkgroep ziekenhuisrevalidatie (WZR). Twee werkgroepen met dezelfde naam, die ook nog heel goed samenwerken. Dit interview met de voorzitters van beide werkgroepen (Esther Kruitwagen - van Reenen en Remko Verhagen), in de laatste editie van NTR, gaat over de activiteiten tot nu – en de ambities voor de toekomst om de ziekenhuisrevalidatie een steviger positie te geven in het ziekenhuis en daarbuiten. De ziekenhuisrevalidatie heeft zich sterk ontwikkeld en speelt inmiddels een belangrijke rol in de coördinatie van de revalidatiezorg. Vroeger, inmiddels bijna 70 jaar geleden, toen de VRA net was opgericht, speelde de revalidatiegeneeskunde zich voornamelijk af in afgelegen revalidatiecentra. Tijden zijn veranderd. Inmiddels werkt meer dan de helft van de revalidatieartsen in een ziekenhuis, al dan niet gecombineerd met een functie in het revalidatiecentrum. De ziekenhuisrevalidatieartsen zien andere categorieën patiënten dan de revalidatieartsen in het revalidatiecentrum en begeleiden patiënten kortdurend en in korte behandeltrajecten. Ook zijn de ziekenhuisrevalidatieartsen ervoor verantwoordelijk dat klinische patiënten met een revalidatievraag de juiste revalidatiezorg of verwijzing krijgen.
