Sustainable Tourism in Zagreb: A Productive Meeting with the Zagreb Tourist Board On Tuesday, we had a highly constructive meeting with the Zagreb Tourist Board to further our shared vision of positioning Zagreb as a leader in sustainable tourism. As Croatian capital, Zagreb holds tremendous potential to set new benchmarks for eco-friendly urban development and tourism. Our discussions focused on two strategic initiatives: Expansion of the Global Environmental Protection Network (GEPN): By placing GEPN monitoring systems in key areas, this initiative will provide invaluable data to ensure that both residents and visitors enjoy safe, clean water. It also serves as a model of how technology and data-driven insights can support sustainable urban environments. 🇪🇺 Preparations for the EU ETIS Conference 2025: We are aligning our efforts to ensure that Zagreb plays a central role in shaping the future of sustainable tourism in Europe. The Conference will provide a critical platform to highlight Zagreb’s commitment to responsible tourism practices, and how our projects contribute to achieving EU sustainability standards. Our aim is to demonstrate how urban tourism can thrive while preserving natural resources. Through this collaboration, we are working towards creating a comprehensive PR strategy that showcases Zagreb as a city deeply committed to environmental integrity and responsible tourism. We believe that by integrating innovation, sustainability, and strategic communication, we can elevate Zagreb’s profile as a destination that prioritizes both its community and its natural environment. A special thank you to Petra Maršić Buljan, Zlatan Muftić, and Luka Benko for their valuable insights. We look forward to the opportunity for further collaboration. #OACM #Zagreb #ZagrebTouristBoard #Partnership #GEPN #WhiteFlag #EUETIS #Sustainability #Tourism

We can proudly announce a strategic collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Bosnia and Herzegovina to elevate ecological standards and strengthen water protection globally. As Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism, Nasiha Pozder stated, "The protection of the environment is our mission, and we act legislatively, practically with projects, and in every way to ensure compatible sustainable development and a healthy environment." She praised our efforts in reducing the plastic impact on natural resources, adding, "I am pleased to have exchanged information with Mr. Alić... who can assist us in water protection and reducing, primarily, the plastic impact on natural resources." At OACM, we share this vision. Our representative and President of the World Blue Chamber from the Alliance for the Conservation of Global Waters (OACM Group – Ocean Alliance Conservation Member), Mr. Nedžad Alić said, "I am encouraged by Minister Pozder's openness and her commitment to raising standards, particularly environmental ones, to protect the environment, which is something Bosnia and Herzegovina urgently needs." Through this partnership, we are working towards sustainable water management and positioning Bosnia and Herzegovina at the forefront of international environmental efforts. Together, we aim to protect natural resources, reduce plastic waste, and foster global cooperation. #Sustainability #WaterProtection #OACM #EnvironmentalProtection #Collaboration #BosniaAndHerzegovina

Strengthening Global Cooperation for Ocean Preservation among G7 nations OACM President, Mr. Kristijan Curavić, recently held a significant meeting with Hon. Fabien Fieschi, Ambassador of France at the French Embassy in Zagreb. During this meeting, they discussed the upcoming EU ETIS Conference, which will take place in Croatia on 16-17 October 2025. This key event will gather more than 150 nations, heads of state, and global corporations to create new sustainable policies for tourism and ocean conservation. Ambassador Fieschi expressed his support. France has the unique opportunity to take a leadership role among G7 nations in ocean preservation by adopting OACM’s SOS CP system. This innovative system can physically reduce plastic waste in coastal areas, ensuring safe marine environments for both humans and marine life. The Canadian Prime Minister, Hon. Justin Trudeau, has already pledged his support, and this bilateral cooperation between France and Canada paves the way for a stronger G7 alliance in ocean preservation. The upcoming meeting with the US State Department in April/May 2025 will further accelerate international cooperation, with plans to engage Italy, Japan, Germany, and the UK. Together, these initiatives mark the beginning of a truly global program for the sustainable preservation of our oceans, lakes, and rivers. #OACM #France #Canada #G7 #Sustainability #LaFranceEnCroatie #FrenchEmbassyZagreb #OceanPreservation #EUETIS #MarineLife #GlobalCooperation #KristijanCuravic

OACM, he added, signs such agreements all over the world and in a global framework will enable our region, BiH, in some way to be co-creators of policies aimed at solving the problem of the immediate danger of climate change and plastic pollution in the world's seas, rivers and lakes - through long-term sustainable financial tools integrated into the corporate and government sector.
