Great Ambitions to Expand Along the Danube Dr. János Vecsenyi, Corvinus University of Budapest, and Dr. Pál Danyi, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, spoke about the Danube Cup as part of a podcast series in Catholic Radio on October 17. Going a long way from a small university pitch competition back in 2016 between two Hungarian universities (...) to becoming an international success story of 6 cities, 8 universities and 16 projects along the Danube. Proud to spread the news about its success stories and best practices, the Danube Cup plans to: · come up with inter-university start-ups · expand university collabs with new institutions along the Danube · strengthen its science and research pillar (academic knowledge sharing) „In order for start-ups to thrive, it is key that they validate their ideas in the market, and create a team of mixed skills.” Prof. Vecsenyi Helping businesses in the early stages is a high priority for BCCI, so the organisation helps Danube Cup not just with funding but also with international project management and communications support provided by its International Project Office. The Danube Cup is getting ready for its 2025 edition. Stay tuned! #BKIK #DanubeCup

We have exciting news: Leading members of the Danube Cup research community have recently participated at the 22nd IECER (Interdisciplinary European Conference on Entrepreneurship Research) conference in Innsbruck, Austria. What's more, they have contacted leading researchers in the IECER network to exchange knowhow. Since 2003, the IECER Entrepreneurship Conference has become an important forum for interdisciplinary entrepreneurship research in Europe. Once a year entrepreneurship researchers gather in Europe to discuss current topics from an interdisciplinary and international perspective. The conference was proposed to fill the gap in discussing entrepreneurship issues on the scale of an enlarging and coalescing Europe. In the past 22 years, the IECER community has provided an important contribution to entrepreneurship research and theory. The roots of IECER can be traced back to the University of Regensburg, Germany, where the idea for IECER had been brought up by Prof. Michael Dowling (Business Administration). This university is also a member of the Danube Cup network. We are confident that the cooperation will contribute positively to the strengthening of the research pillar of the Danube Cup network. We see a huge gap between Western and Eastern researchers in the field of entrepreneurship - which is also true for businesses. The 'bridgehead' has been built; the future is now within reach! #research #cooperation #entrepreneruship Tibor Dőry Barbara Hegyi Ph.D. Attila Makai, PhD, MBA Loretta Huszák, PhD

🎉🎉Danube Cup: Winner of the European Enterprise Promotion Award in Hungary🎉🎉 The European Enterprise Support Award recognizes the most successful initiatives of organizations and companies in the field of enterprise support across Europe to celebrate and promote best practice, raise awareness of the added value of entrepreneurship and inspire potential applicants. The international network of the Danube Cup, which includes 10 universities from 5 countries, won first place in Hungary in the "Investment in Entrepreneurial Skills" category of the award. On behalf of the founding universities, Prof. emer. János Vecsenyi (Corvinus University of Budapest) and Pal Danyi, PhD (Budapest University of Technology and Economics), received the award from the Hungarian Minister of National Economy, Márton Nagy (Corvinus alumnus), at the official ceremony on July 2, 2024. Prof. Vecsenyi explained that "winning the award confirms that companies can only be successful internationally if they understand the international markets". Dr. Danyi added: "The award is a consistently positive feedback that we are going in the right direction and that we can offer useful and practical advice to young people interested in starting a business". The growing success of the Danube Cup proves that students, mentors and researchers from various universities along the Danube are happy to take part in this fascinating project that gives new impetus to the start-up world. #EEPA2024 #danubecup #futureentrepreneurs
