First Look at the FootJoy Packard LX
Upgraded with box leather and premium nubuck for the fall.
As fall approaches nearly all of the big events on the golf calendar are in the rear view mirror, moments that brands like FootJoy use as opportunities to build narrative around key products. In 2024 one of those has been the Field LX, a new take on the Premiere Series Field with the addition of a full length mudguard. Streetwear-influenced Metalwood and luxury fashion designer Jon Buscemi each put their spin on the Field LX as it offered a more customizable canvas for FJ’s derby silhouette. Now in September the Packard, another member of the Premiere Series, is getting the LX treatment.
The Packard is defined by a closed lacing system and a modern take on a traditional saddle section. So rather than add a mudguard in this case, FJ changed out the Packard’s typical pebbled leather for a box leather textile which has a longer grain, glossy surface and premium bison texturing. The saddle section also gets an upgrade in the form of rich nubuck, while the lining is given soft lambskin and extra padding. Together, all of these upgrades account for another $45 USD on top of normal price for the Packard, totaling $245 USD.
The Field LX is available now via FootJoy, for now exclusively in a white and navy colorway with a red clay midsole.
