It's been a big week for anime news, with announcements tied to Anime Expo, held last weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and we round it up here.

The second season of the Solo Leveling anime, which has been driving sales of the webtoon collections to new heights, will be released on Crunchyroll soon, and the streamer dropped a trailer with a first look (below).  In Season 2, Sung Jinwoo comes back with a program only he can see that's leveling him up, inspiring him to discover the secrets behind his powers.

The next My Hero Academia anime feature, You're Next, will get a North American theatrical release in both subbed and dubbed versions, according to Deadline.  It will premiere October 12, 2024.

Crunchyroll dropped a trailer for the upcoming anime Witch Hat Atelier, based on the manga (published here by Kodansha), produced by the studio Bug Films.  The team includes director Ayumu Watanabe (Summer Time Rendering), character designer Kairi Unabara (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off), with music by Yuka Kitamura (ELDEN RING; Bloodborne; DARK SOULS III).

Iconic Events Releasing and AMC Networks' HIDIVE will release Ninja Scrolls theatrically in both subbed and dubbed versions, tied to the film's 30th anniversary, the distributors announced.  It will screen in over 500 U.S. theaters on September 11, 12, and 15.

Crunchyroll and Aniplex are adapting the Omniscient Reader Korean webnovel and webtoon into an anime series, the producers announced.  The series is already in production, with release planned "soon."  Ize Press publishes the manhwa in the U.S.

A trailer dropped for the upcoming Ubel Blatt anime, which will be released in January 2025.  The anime is based on the manga, published here by Yen Press.
