DC Comics has announced five new middle-grade graphic novels for publication in early 2025.

Harley Quinn’s Bud and Lou: Trouble Times Two, by Ben Hed, is a super-animal tale: Bud and Lou, Harley’s hyenas, are accused of stealing the Lasso of Truth, and they form a reluctant partnership with Super-pets Ace and Jumpa to catch the real thieves.  Hed is the creator of the Pet Foolery cartoons on Instagram.  Harley Quinn’s Bud and Lou: Trouble Times Two will go on sale on March 4 with an MSRP of $12.99.

The DC Super Hero Girls creative team of Amanda Diebert and Agnes Garbowska is back together again for Teen Titans Go! On TV, in which the Teen Titans members are all on reality TV shows – except for Robin, who is left to keep an eye on things.  The graphic novel will go on sale on January 7 with an MSRP of $12.99.

Jimmy Olsen’s Supercyclopedia, by Gabe Soria and Sandy Jarrell, finds young Jimmy Olsen growing increasingly dissatisfied with just chronicling the daring deeds of the Justice League and wants to be a hero himself.  That becomes possible when he is handed the Supercyclopedia, but he soon finds himself up against Toy Boy and the Mischief League who have fake versions of the device and want to use it to really mess things up. Jimmy and his pals Rip Hunter and Linda Park team up for a journey across planets and dimensions to head off the threat. Soria is a writer whose credits include Batman Adventures, Batman ’66, and the role-playing game Sword & Backpack as well as a collaboration with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys on Murder Ballads (see “‘Murder Ballads’ Comic Accompanied by Soundtrack”).  Jarrell is an experienced DC artist and contributed to Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology (see “Dark Horse to Publish Deluxe Edition of ‘Norse Mythology’."  Jimmy Olsen’s Supercyclopedia will go on sale on April 1 with an MSRP of $12.99.

DC Misfits of Magic, by Matthew Dow Smith, brings together a group of magical middle-graders, including adopted siblings Ricki and Ross, Danny Cassidy a.k.a. the Blue Devil, Boston Brand/Deadkid, and June Moon/The Enchantress, who meet at the local library with their camp counselor, Zatanna Zatara, to investigate supernatural mysteries and generally cause trouble.  Smith is the writer of The October Girl and Amelia Shadows and the artist for Batman ’66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel (see “‘Batman ’66 Meets steed and Mrs. Peel’”).  DC Misfits of Magic will go on sale on May 6 with an MSRP of $12.99.

KANGA-U: Tests and Tournaments, by Sholly Fisch and Yancey Labat, is set on the island of Themyscira, where the native kangas are competing to see who will be paired with Princess Diana – and Jumpa hopes she will be the one, despite stiff competition from her friends.  Fisch is well known to DC readers as the writer of the Scooby-Doo and Batman Team-Up comics, and Labat’s credits include DC Super Hero Girls.  KANGA-U: Tests and Tournaments will go on sale on June 3 with an MSRP of $12.99.
