Managing your waste in an environmentally friendly manner with smart technology.

Tentang kami

Rekosistem is a climate-tech startup that provides waste management and recycling features to connect waste stakeholders and improve the productivity and efficiency in the waste supply chain. We improve how waste value chain works and standardize the informal operations. We believe through technology and innovation, there is always a way to realize circular economy towards a sustainable ecosystem. Our Philosophy Rekosistem is derived from combination of two words; 're-' and 'ecosystem' (in Bahasa: Ekosistem). Re- stands for (1) reduce, (2) reuse, (3) recycle, (4) renewable, and (5) all sustainable related principles that will be implemented in our products. -ecosystem means that our solutions will revamp the existing behaviour into more eco-friendly community and conform them with how the ideal and organic interaction should happen. #TowardsASustainableEcosystem #TowardsZero #ZeroWaste #ZeroEmission

Spogomi with AEON MALL INDONESIA Delta Mas: A Sport That Benefits Health and the Environment ♻️ Last September, Rekosistem proudly took part in the Spogomi event organized by AEON Delta Mas, serving as judges and waste management partner to ensure that all materials collected were responsibly sorted and recycled. Supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), this unique “waste-picking sport” opened for public, free to join, and encouraged participants to clean up the AEON Delta Mas area while promoting environmental action. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 62 teams in total (each team consisted of 3-5 participants), including groups from Japanese companies. Distinguished guests attended to support the initiative, including representatives from SML, Hiroki Takayabashi from the Japanese Embassy, Mr. Kurniawan Akbar from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and Dr. Drs. H. Dedy Supriyadi, MM, Acting Regent of Bekasi Regency. The event was opened by Mr. Tetsuya Kimura, President Director of AEON Mall Indonesia, who highlighted AEON’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals by hosting this event. Together, the participants gathered an impressive 263.14 kg of waste, with paper waste being the most common type of inorganic material collected. To recognize their efforts, winners were awarded cash prizes. With Spogomi, we envisions a new approach to waste awareness, where people can engage in environmental efforts through an exciting sport. The mix of teamwork and spirit in creating a cleaner environment offers families and groups a chance to make a positive impact together.

When Waste Clean Up Meets Competition at Car Free Day! 🚗 ♻️ On September 2, 2024, a Spogomi event was held at Jakarta MORI Tower and around car free day area, organized by Marubeni Corporation in collaboration with Rekosistem. Spogomi, a blend of "sport" and "gomi" (the Japanese word for waste), is an innovative approach to waste collection that turns cleaning the environment into a friendly competition. This event brought together teams from companies under Japanese alliances, aiming to raise awareness about waste management through active participation. Rekosistem facilitated the judging process, ensuring that all waste collected was properly weighed and categorized for recycling. The competition added a layer of excitement, as participants not only aimed to collect the most waste but also enjoyed the fun and friendly rivalry. In total, 138 kilograms of waste was collected, with over 40% being plastic. The winning teams—Yakult Shirota in first place, Adira 1 in second, and Yakult Usus Sehat in third—demonstrated great teamwork and enthusiasm. They balanced their competitive edge with enjoyment, and were rewarded with cash prizes in Indonesian Rupiah for their efforts. Through this event, Rekosistem and Marubeni highlighted how waste collection can become a collective effort that involves businesses and communities. By turning environmental action into a shared experience, we hope to encourage more organizations to take part in future sustainable initiatives in a fun way.

At IdeaFest 2024, Rekosistem had the opportunity to participate in PT Pertamina (Persero)’s panel session, "Is Green Tech the Answer? Exploring Opportunities to Solve Our Environmental Crisis," alongside key leaders in sustainability and innovation. This panel, held on 28th September 2024, brought together industry experts to explore how green technology can be leveraged to tackle today's most critical environmental challenges. Our Co-Founder and CEO, Ernest Christian Layman, joined fellow panelists Adhityani Putri, Climate and Energy Transition Policy Expert, Arfan Arlanda, CEO and Founder of Jejakin, Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano, CEO and Founder of Waste4Change, and Sandy Rahadian, Senior Officer I, Sales Management PPN. The panel's discussion centered around the urgent need to rethink how society approaches waste, consumption, and sustainability in the face of overproduction and environmental degradation. Ernest shared Rekosistem's belief that waste management is not just about solving a problem after it has occurred—it's about addressing the root cause by challenging the way we consume and produce goods. At Rekosistem, we see technology as a driving force in shifting behaviors and systems toward a more circular, sustainable economy. By integrating green technology into everyday practices, we aim to reduce the environmental footprint of industries and individuals. Building on this shared vision, Rekosistem actively collaborates with Pertamina to implement sustainable waste management practices. Together, we've successfully collected over 4.063 kg of waste and saved 2.289 tonnes of CO2 emissions. These efforts span major events such as the Pertamina Eco Run 2022 and 2023, Pertamina Hulu Energy OSES 2023, and Pertamina EP Regional 2023. This participation at IdeaFest aligns with Rekosistem’s broader mission to drive impactful change through innovation and collaboration. As the leading festival for creativity and innovation, IdeaFest 2024 brought together over 400 speakers across more than 120 sessions, with topics ranging from art to sustainability. The event, held from September 27-29, highlighted the importance of creativity and cross-sector partnerships in addressing global challenges. For Rekosistem, being part of this platform reinforces the growing need for collaborative solutions to build a more sustainable future. #IdeaFest #ClimateChange
