We are very excited to be announcing our partnership with Green-Got, a French financial institution. Together, we have opened our 10th sorting facility. Located in Banyuwangi, East Java, we have installed 15 trash barriers in rivers, already collecting 60,000 kg of trash in 6 months. Thank you Green-Got for partnering with us to protect our rivers and oceans 🌊

We have now collected 2,530,000 kg of trash from Indonesia's rivers since starting Sungai Watch. As we near the rainy season, our teams are gearing up for what will most likely be our highest catching quarter. We are now cleaning rivers all throughout Bali and East Java and seeing our daily collection increase by the day.

To date, we have collected 4,200,000 plastic straws in our waterways. These tiny pieces of plastic might seem harmless, but they have a massive impact on the environment. Let’s ditch the straws and choose eco-friendly alternatives to protect our rivers and oceans. It's as simple as using reusable straws or not using them at all!

Every week, our teams in Bali collect 16,000 kg of non-organic waste from rivers. This trash is sorted at one of our 5 sorting stations, and brought to our central Denpasar warehouse for processing and recycling because cleaning rivers is not enough. Sorting the waste we collect by material is crucial to make sure what we collect does not end up back in rivers. Head over to Sungai Design to see what can be made from what we collect in rivers ♻️

239,89 kg of trash intercepted from going into the ocean this morning from this waterway in Tabanan, East Bali. We are actively scouting choking points in rivers that are filled with plastics. If you find a river with trash in it, send us a message or report a location via the link in our bio – and we’ll try our best to come clean it up! Stopping plastic from going into the ocean, one river at a time 💪🌊

Our landfills and coastlines are full of clothing that were once people's favorites. The world of fast fashion has lead to so much pollution around the world, and Java, Indonesia is at the forefront of this problem. We collect all types of fabrics from our cleanups and have been storing them until we find a solution or a way to recycle them. Let us know in the comments how you think we should give value to these fabrics that we are collecting ♻️
