Our Science Lead Dr. Gráinne Cunniffe has been in huge demand recently for her expertise on indoor air quality and healthier homes. Here she is in House Beautiful giving advice on volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and cleaning products. “Household products like paint, new furniture, and cleaning sprays often emit chemicals called volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can lead to poor health outcomes,” Dr. Gráinne Cunniffe, Ph.D, a principal investigator with the iAIR Institute and the science lead at Allergy Standards Ltd. (ASL). “Look for cleaning products that carry the Asthma and Allergy Foundation’s Asthma & Allergy Friendly Certification to ensure they have been tested to meet both performance and strict emissions standards.” You can find more on CERTIFIED cleaning products and how to get your product CERTIFIED by the asthma & allergy friendly Certification Program here https://lnkd.in/ey8WdF-n https://lnkd.in/eXiuaNDP #indoorairquality #healthierhomes #certification

Exciting times ahead as the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA) kicks off its High Performance Home Builder Summit in Salt Lake City, UT tomorrow. This event has consistently been a fantastic opportunity for learning, networking, and collaboration, and we’re proud to have been part of it over the years. EEBA’s mission to inspire building professionals to create and sell high-performance homes at a faster pace is truly impactful. A key focus in recent years has been the importance of indoor air quality. The air we breathe is the single most important external factor governing our health today. It’s obvious that no one can survive without clean air, yet we take it for granted. To address the growing demand for healthier homes, the 'Healthier Homes Awareness for Building Professionals' course — developed by the asthma and allergy science experts at Allergy Standards Limited — brings together building science and medical science. This course ensures that the concept of building for people and health is centre stage, rather than the more traditional unilateral point of view for a build. The same experts behind the world-renowned asthma & allergy friendly Certification Program have designed the course to empower building professionals, designers, and retailers with the knowledge to create homes that prioritize health. Find the course on the EEBA course catalog or here at the iAIR Academy: https://lnkd.in/eABE2daD #HomeBuilding #HighPerformance #HealthyHomes #BuilderEducation

This is such an important topic! Improving indoor air quality is essential for our health, especially for those with asthma or allergies. Learn more about how we can all make simple changes, starting with choosing the right HVAC filters, like the innovative Filtrete™ Furnace Filters from 3M
October is National Indoor Air Quality Awareness Month, and we’re kicking things off in a big way! At the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program, we’re dedicating this month to raising awareness about the vital role indoor air quality (IAQ) plays in our everyday lives. Throughout October, we’ll be sharing a series of insightful articles that show how small, smart choices can make a big difference in the air you breathe—whether at home, work, or school. 🏠🏢🏫 First up: HVAC filters. Did you know these filters can dramatically improve IAQ by capturing airborne pollutants like pollen, dust mite allergen, and pet dander? Your HVAC system is the heartbeat of your home’s airflow, but without the right filtration, it could be spreading allergens instead of stopping them. Choosing the right HVAC filter is essential for maintaining a healthier indoor environment. CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® HVAC filters, like the innovative Filtrete™ Furnace Filters from 3M, undergo rigorous testing to meet strict standards for reducing allergens and improving air quality. With these filters, you can have peace of mind knowing you've made an informed choice to enhance your home’s indoor air and, therefore, your well-being. Read more about how to choose HVAC filters here https://lnkd.in/eaqCdeM7 #indoorairqualityawarenessmonth #IAQMonth #HVACfilters #airfilters

We've been working on something BIG with one of our long-time clients, Knauf North America and are very excited to announce the launch of their residential line of Performance+ products! In a world where indoor air is two to five times more polluted than outdoor air, and childhood asthma remains the leading cause of disease-related school absenteeism, improving indoor air quality is critical. We have worked with Knauf and partner agency FUNGI Media on a creative rollout and marketing and PR plan for this launch including advertising, creative, copy, media outreach and more. In addition to Fungi, we are proud to have worked with other agency partners Legacy Marketing and Rightpoint to execute this successful launch and love being a small part of helping people live healthier lives. Here’s Amanda Pollard and George Rafeedie at the Insulation Contractors Association of America show in Chicago this week where the products launched. Thank you to Knauf for entrusting us with being part of your marketing team. Give it a like, love or share!
