Reflecting on MMC Ireland 2025 ✨✨ What a fantastic event at MMC Ireland 2025! As headline sponsors, we were thrilled to witness the continued momentum of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and the industry's evolving progress since last year. The event covered a wide range of topics related to MMC, including carbon footprint reduction and sustainability, the launch of academic programs, the role of digital platforms, industry skills, and government support for MMC, as well as the integration of AI within the MMC framework. The growing adoption of MMC is a testament to the collaborative efforts across stakeholders and the leadership of professionals in the industry. We were particularly inspired by the insightful presentations on sustainability R&D, from material optimisation during early design stages to the end-of-life considerations and the circular economy paradigm, as shared by Sisk and Ann-Maria Fallon. These perspectives on MMC offer valuable insight into its long-term potential. A big thank you to Éadaoin Ní Fhearghail and Martin Searson for their excellent presentations, which provided critical evidence and documentation from the government sector to further propel MMC. We also appreciated the insights from many other insightful speakers and presenters throughout the event. At C+W O'Brien Architects , we have seen firsthand the significant impact of MMC, and we’ve incorporated various MMC techniques, including 3D volumetric, 2D panelised systems, precast, and more, into our built environment projects from the early design stages.
