Since its formation in 1993, the CityJet brand has stood for excellence in service.
Having operated own brand scheduled flights until 2018, we now exclusively provide capacity as a service, and we deliver this to customer airlines who require flights to be operated under “wet lease” agreements rather than doing them themselves. Our customer decides where and when we fly the aircraft, what routes it should operate on and is also responsible for the sale of seats to passengers and any operating costs – such as fuel or airport fees – which are incurred. Our crews operate the services in our aircraft, delivering the product our customer airline requires.
CityJet operates a fleet of 21 88/90-seat CRJ900 aircraft and six 100-seat CRJ1000s. The majority of our aircraft operate under a wet lease contract for SAS Scandinavian Airlines, based in Copenhagen and Stockholm, with the six CRJ1000 aircraft operated on behalf of Lufthansa.
Over 450 of CityJet's 600 staff are employed in Copenhagen, Denmark in both flying and ground roles, making CityJet one of the most significant airline employers in Denmark. We also have a crew base in Stockholm Arlanda, supporting a growing number of aircraft in Sweden. In addition to flying on our recently-extended long term SAS contract, Stockholm and Copenhagen crews also operate our services from Frankfurt on behalf of Lufthansa.
Our maintenance centre and offices at Hangar 3 in Copenhagen Kastrup Airport provide line maintenance on our fleet as well as crew training and HR services. The airline’s administration base, including our Operations Control Centre / OCC and Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation / CAMO, is at Dublin Airport.
