Cricket Ireland is the National Governing Body for the sport of cricket in Ireland and a Full Member of the ICC.
About us
Cricket Ireland is the national governing body for the sport of cricket in Ireland. It is responsible for setting the strategic direction and the national administration of cricket on the island of Ireland. Cricket Ireland (also known as “The Irish Cricket Union”) was established in 1923. On 22 June 2017 the ICC announced that Ireland had been granted Full Membership status and had become a fully-fledged Test Match playing nation. This granted Ireland Test status and allowed the organisation to join the ICC Future Tours Programme. Cricket Ireland is directly responsible for the international men's and women's squads, and the performance pathway structures in both systems. It also runs the men's inter-provincial and first-class competition, the women's Super Series, and three national club cricket cup competitions. Cricket Ireland works closely with the provincial unions - Cricket Leinster, Northern Cricket Union, North West Cricket Union and Munster Cricket - in delivering national programmes and supporting grassroots initiatives across Ireland.

Fantastic to have Mohammed Mahomed and the Her Sport team at our inagural Female Leaders Conference! 🙌 Their insights into the rise of women's sports viewership, the importance of male allyship, and inclusive representation are critical to shaping the future of women's sports in Ireland and globally. #StrongerTogether #OnTheFrontFoot #WomenInSportIRE
Safe to say the past few weeks have been busy for both Niamh Tallon and Mohammed Mahomed! They both headed to Paris for the adidas Breaking Barriers Project, working alongside one of the world’s biggest brands to challenge the barriers girls and women face. Niamh currently also has the privilege of serving on the Three Ireland’s Grants for Small Businesses judging panel which will help TEN businesses with grants that will support their growth and innovation. (If you want to apply; make sure you do it before next week Monday! https://lnkd.in/ejSA96-U) This was one of the bigger highlights of the year for sure. We were honoured to celebrate 20 years of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland at The Gathering. Having been part of the SEI Accelerator Programme, we’ve experienced first-hand, the influence being part of the SEI community has on both personal and professional growth. Safe to say the relationships we've built will live beyond anything we could have imagined. Mohammedalso had the opportunity to speak at Croke Park for Cricket Ireland, sharing his perspective on male allyship. The work being done at Cricket Ireland to foster inclusivity is something to be applauded. Finally, Niamh has recently been named a brand ambassador for the Local Enterprise Offices for National Women’s Enterprise Day, taking place on October 17th. ... no better person we say! What's coming ahead? We are excited to be hosting a corporate fundraising dinner on November 8th to launch the Her Sport Foundation. If you’re interested in supporting and joining us, please reach out at foundation@hersport.ie.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 🤩 This victory over England was special for many reasons and follows another stellar performance on the pitch with emerging players continuing to make their mark at international level. The T20Is were broadcast on Virgin Media Ireland, making it the first time in many years that cricket was on terrestrial TV in the Republic of Ireland. Thanks so much Virgin Media for giving cricket a go on your network! 🙌 This opportunity was made possible thanks to the Primary Sponsor of Ireland Women, Certa Ireland, who continue to help us break boundaries both on and off the pitch. 💥 Well played to everyone involved, including Clontarf Cricket Club for being such fantastic hosts! 👏 #FuelledByCerta #BackingGreen ☘🏏

Supported by Sport Ireland and Sport Northern Ireland, we will host a very important ‘Conversations in Championing Female Leaders’ conference on the morning of Saturday, 14 September. Coinciding with the Ireland V England Women’s T20I match at Clontarf Cricket Club that afternoon, the event will explore the growing momentum behind women’s sports and discuss practical ways to elevate visibility and opportunities for women and girls in sports. The conference will dive into key themes such as the impact of targeted programmes on participation and leadership, the importance of strategic sponsorships, the value of inclusive broadcasting and reporting, and the essential role of male allyship in promoting women’s sports. The event, which will be MC’d by sports presented Gráinne McElwain, features a range of panelists from cricket and beyond, including sports broadcaster Ryle Nugent, CEO of Premier Sports and former Group Head of Sport at RTÉ; Mohammed Mahomed, Co-Founder at Her Sport; Orla Stevens, Managing Director of Certa; and Kelli O’Keeffe, Managing Director of Teneo Sport and Sponsorships – among many others. These experts will share their experiences and perspectives on advancing female leadership in sports. This conference promises to be a powerful platform for advancing the conversation on championing female leaders in sports. ➡ More: https://bit.ly/4dWJ0EA
