Knightsbrook Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort hosted there second annual Nollaig na mBan, Little Christmas Ball on Saturday 6th January 2024. Over 350 ladies were in attendance and enjoyed a night of glitz and glam while celebrating the time old tradition. As part of the event, the team at Knightsbrook Resort held a raffle to raise some much-needed funds for Meath Women's Refuge & Support Services Meath Women's Refuge and Support Services assists women and children affected by domestic violence and abuse. They are a registered charity set up in 1987. Their Mission is to empower women and children who experience domestic violence and abuse on their journey towards safety, wellbeing and recovery. The night was a great success, with the raffle raising an incredible total of €3507.40 which will greatly help this amazing service with its ongoing work here in our county. “December and January can be especially difficult months for women and children where there is domestic violence. We are very grateful for this generous donation from Knightsbrook Hotel which helps pay for critical ongoing costs for our refuge building in Navan and supports for survivors of abuse like counselling and outreach in the community. Last year, 185 women and children leaving situations of domestic abuse stayed with us in emergency refuge. This is a huge 41% increase on 2022 and still there were over 300 women we were unable to accommodate. Our long-term goal is to achieve zero tolerance of domestic violence in Meath and deliver world class services for women and children who have been affected. Meet Stephen Higgins, the newly appointed Head Chef at Knightsbrook Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort! Stephen has a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts from Dublin Business School and has been a Head Chef for over 20 years, running some of the busiest hotels and restaurants in Dublin. "I’ve had a huge interest in cooking from an early age, I started my career as a Commis Chef in the iconic Royal Dublin Hotel, a few years after that I moved on to work in some fantastic restaurants in Dublin. I’m very passionate to deliver excellence.
