As we bring the REVALORISE+ project to a close, we reflect on the last three years and the milestones we achieved. Our goal was clear: to elevate the awareness and practice of knowledge valorisation within the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) community. Through specially designed training sessions for researchers and professionals, interactive events, and comprehensive dissemination activities, we've started conversations and created interest in knowledge valorisation far and wide. The essence of REVALORISE+ was not just in these structured activities but also in the personal connections and encounters that brought our goal to life. The impact of REVALORISE+ continues in our daily work. The project partners will continue as ambassadors, spreading the valorisation ethos through their networks, in presentations, and across future projects. Thank you to everyone who played their part and brought inspiration and enthusiasm to the REVALORISE+ Light House Stories, Research Assets, Training and events. REVALORISE+ successfully navigated the challenge of a global pandemic to achieve invaluable insights and create recommendations to enhance the valorisation of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research. Some lessons we learned: 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Despite the efficiency of digital tools, personal engagement remains essential for intensive valorisation efforts. 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐞𝐲: Building strong networks with stakeholders from industry and society is fundamental for SSH valorisation. 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬: A blend of global and local connections enriches SSH valorisation. 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Recognising the diverse needs across institutions, professional training for KT and TT professionals should be adaptable, focusing on specific requirements and contexts. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬: Tailoring training to researchers at similar career stages ensures relevance and effectiveness, addressing specific needs and challenges. 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: There's no one-size-fits-all in valorisation. An open-minded approach that considers various pathways, whether through business foundations or collaborations, can best serve the diverse landscape of SSH research. 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: A dedicated social media campaign and a thriving online community were crucial to the project's success. Awareness and visibility can significantly enhance engagement and impact. 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Training initiatives for early career researchers and professionals should not only be innovative but also sustainable, ideally integrating into existing curricula for lasting benefits. #SSHValorisation #REVALORISE #SocialSciences #Sustainability

Our digital efforts were complemented by a personal touch, hosting an international showcase event in Vienna and 9 national events engaging participants in crucial conversations about valorisation. Through the project’s European-wide data collection, centred around valorisation, a range of skill gaps were identified. These focus areas have been addressed by a training video series which aims to assist and inspire research support professionals / KT/TT professionals to create their own valorisation programmes, consultations or interventions. We are excited to share with you an overview of research material in the field of Sociology, Public Policy and Education, where the thematic focus was behaviour, motivations and participation dynamics in collaborative online platforms. Hazal Baytok is a research associate and PhD student at the Institut Mines-Télécom Business School. Her research focuses on collaborative open knowledge systems, in which individuals voluntarily create, collect and disseminate information.
