I cannot tell you how proud I am to be part of the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals #Diversity in Privacy Advisory Board, this year in particular. It is a huge privilege to be working alongside truly passionate and dedicated individuals with an unwavering commitment to supporting and fostering a very broad ecosystem that encompasses accessibility and inclusion on many levels. Diversity in Privacy is necessarily multifaceted and contemplates generations, professional backgrounds, education levels, cultural and ethnic diversity, socioeconomic status, #neurodiversity, geographic location, #disability, gender and sexual orientation. Each of these facets contributes to a richer understanding of privacy needs and challenges and helps ensure that both solutions and our community are well-rounded and respectful of the complex world we help navigate. Where #Privacy is the group tackling #AIgovernance, this expansive view of diversity is all the more critical, to my mind. This is an amazing moment. I think of all of the women and/or people of color I've met who were crestfallen due to the fact that they have received zero support from VCs. I think of all of the amazing ideas that have never seen the light of day because they never fit the profile of a typical founder. I think of all of the networks that I myself have never had access to because I simply did not have access. This is a game-changer.
