The collaboration aims to integrate Mi'kmaw knowledge and values into Simply Blue Group’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel Project in Goldboro, Nova Scotia, ensuring environmental stewardship and mutual benefits.   Hugh Kelly, Co-Founder & CEO of Simply Blue Group, stated: “Our partnership with the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi'kmaw Chiefs is built on a foundation of respect for local stewardship and collaboration. We’re wrapping up an incredible few weeks of attending key events in the renewable energy sector! From the Floating Offshore Wind 2024 Conference to the Western Development Commission (WDC) 25th Anniversary Summit to the Blue Ambition 2024 Conference, here’s a quick recap:   At #FOW24, our Salamander team highlighted our efforts to advance the domestic supply chain ahead of 2030. Huw Bell, Delivery Manager for Salamander Floating Wind shared valuable insights during a rapid-fire session on latest innovations in floating wind projects. 💨   We were thrilled to have our Chief Impact Officer, Val Cummins PhD Cummins, participate in a panel discussion at the Western Development Commission (WDC) 25th Anniversary, where she discussed the potential of offshore wind energy to foster sustainable regional development. "The opportunity of a century to shape the next 25 years will stem from the abundance of offshore wind energy in the Atlantic. She urged the community to seize the opportunity to transform the economy by unlocking this abundance of energy to power a new green digital economy." 🌱 Finally, Gareth Murphy, our Seaweed Manager, represented us at the Blue Ambition 2024 conference which marked the conclusion of a Hatch workshop by BIM (Bord Iascaigh Mhara - Ireland's Seafood Development Agency). Gareth presented our seaweed initiatives. He highlighted our collaboration with North Sea Farmers on the NSF1 project, as well as our ongoing efforts with the Óir na Farraige project portfolio, which focuses on sustainable seaweed farming and its potential to contribute to the blue bioeconomy. Our Sustainable Fuels team attended the recent #WorldHydrogenCongress as part of #WorldHydrogenWeek in Copenhagen, where they connected with fellow innovators in the hydrogen and sustainable fuels space.
