Did you know that we could save 27.9 billion tonnes of CO2 per year by using reusable PCBs? 💻 A PCB, or Printed Circuit Board, is otherwise known as the integral foundation of our beloved electronics. Unfortunately, PCBs are notorious for their inability to be reused—with traditional adhesives making it almost impossible to successfully recycle these components. PCBs may seem small, but with the rate of e-waste currently increasing by 6% per year, this build-up is not something to be ignored. On the bright side 💡 an alternative to traditional PCBs has been created by Techies member In2tec Ltd, which recently had its documentary debut on CBS News. Check out the video here: https://lnkd.in/e53SJchZ #SustainableTech #TechSector #PCBs

How do you host a large event sustainably? You work with sustainable event partners! 🤝 🌍 We're proud to have hosted Techies Go Green Live in a responsible manner by serving Watermark Coffee in reusable shareclub cups, a completely vegetarian and vegan lunch, and offering sustainable prizes from Mace Promotions. Our event venue and home to Techies Go Green operations—The Guinness Enterprise Centre—recently took steps to advance sustainability in the building in a major way. With smart heating and lighting and the addition of 323 solar panels, the GEC will achieve an annual CO2 reduction of ~ 27,636 kg. Have you been to any events lately with interesting sustainability efforts? List them below! 👇 #SustainableEvents #GreenEvents #SustainabilityIreland

A fantastic turnout at Techies Go Green Live yesterday at our homebase, the The Guinness Enterprise Centre. A wonderful group of speakers, partners, members, and new faces came together to discuss business and sustainability. 🌍 From peatlands to ethical pensions, we talked through the unique solutions Irish and UK businesses are presenting to combat climate change—and the possibilities to come. It was an energizing and motivating day that ended with an insightful Q&A from Paul Hawken. Some attendees ended up staying well into the evening just to hear what an interesting perspective he has! A gigantic thank you to our speakers and sponsors who supported us in making this day happen. We’re grateful for the help in inspiring others to make sustainable changes at their companies—big or small, it all makes a difference. ♻️ #SustainableBusiness #GreenBusiness
