As any business owners on here will know - a lot of sacrifice goes into building a company, with online public opinion having the ability to take you at the knees in an instant. However, one always hopes that broadsheets are unbiased and balanced in its publications... As such, we are incredibly disappointed in the opinion piece showcased by the #IrishTimes with regards to a review of a small, hot drop model, school meal supplier. Based on negative findings of this one company's nutritional standards, a sweeping generalisation was made with regards to the entire school meal scheme, with no attempt made to reach out to other suppliers like us, schools or students. However, nothing could have prepared us today for the onslaught of emails, calls, texts and Google reviews we received from Principals and parents across the country reassuring us that the service we are providing, is literally changing lives. In an online world where cruelty often dominates, the outpouring of support we received today enforced the fact that schools are literally the most rewarding environment any one could hope to work in. As a team, we are relentless in our pursuit for on-going improvements and literally work night and day to meet this enormous surge in demand that has come upon us.  We vehemently stand over our product, our produce and our people and are so very grateful to those that have stood with us today. Thank you all so much. For those interested, the reason we are the leading school meal provider: -All our chicken and Turkey is sourced from McCaugheys family farm in Castleblayney.  -Our pork is from Loughnane's butchers in Galway -We work with Finnegan's farm in Navan for our veg and Mike Duggan Limerick for our fruit (which we wash and hand cut ourselves) -Our beef is from McKeowns in Ballymena -We are well aware of fibre deficiencies in Irish diets, therefore add lentils to our mince dishes for a fibre boost -We work with Ballymaloe Foods - literally the best in the industry, to ensure sauces are made specifically for us to meet HI guidelines including low salt and low sugar contents, while pulsed veg dense  -All our cheeses are from Bandon Vale in Cork  -We work with Glenhaven Foods in Co Wicklow to develop chicken goujons that are 100% chicken breast and are baked not flash fried -Our curry sauce is specifically made to meet HI Guidelines -We didn't win the Guaranteed Irish award for buying foreign meats We are just normal people, doing our very best to give the school community the best service we can and so grateful for the opportunity.

When you're announced as the winners of the 'One to Watch' at Guaranteed Irish awards, but ironically you are no where to be seen! With an additional 100,000 children joining us after the Easter break for daily meals, the celebrations unfortunately had to be postponed as we swapped the dance floor for the factory floor 🕺. We are so grateful to the judges for this award and know that our parents and principals have great respect for GI's prestigious icon. We will continue to wear this badge with pride.

Can you tell we’re a happy bunch? 🥳 Last week was bitter sweet for us.
