The Orthodontic Society of Ireland are delighted to launch our Audit Poster Competition. This is open to OSI members and to postgraduate students in orthodontics, enrolled on accredited specialist training programmes. Eligible submissions will be displayed at our Autumn Meeting!

The Orthodontic Society of Ireland Seamus Keating Award recognises the research contribution made by orthodontists in specialist training. Seamus was a founding member of our society, a past President and wonderful supporter of orthodontic training and research. Supporting orthodontic patients during their treatment journey is just one way of improving population oral health. Ireland’s Chief Dental Officer, Dympna Kavanagh has been working with colleagues across the EU to collect evidence for best practices in oral health prevention and promotion to inform policy. #oralhealth

After a day when the importance of smiling confidently, eating happily, and hugging tightly came to our minds, it remains crucial to take action to ensure that these basic needs are met. This morning I was invited to zoom into hundreds of 4th, 5th &6th Class classrooms across Ireland for this week’s Meet the Scientist, for the START Competition. This is a brilliant initiative that I’m delighted to support and a wonderful opportunity to share some science about teeth, braces and positive health and the science behind the healthy teeth tips in the beautiful Dental Health Foundation resources.
