Biodegradability is a measure that gives an indication of how long a chemical will remain in the environment, which is particularly important in events such as accidental spills, leaks of fluids or disposal of waste. The formulation of Shell Diala S4 ZX-I has not changed. Shell’s robust testing has allowed us to add the claim of readily biodegradable to Shell Diala S4 ZX-I. Shell Diala S4-ZXI is part of a range of high-performance transformer oils, including fluids based on gas-to-liquid (GTL) technology. Offering enhanced protection, longer oil life and greater system efficiency than traditional transformer oils. Our long-standing partnership with Ferrari has been featured at the Shell Lubricants Macro-Distributors Conference on February 8th 2024 in Prague! What a unique experience for all our valued Macro-Distributors to meet Antonio Fuoco of the Ferrari AF Corse team. Antonio is part of the Ferrari team driving the #50 car in the Hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship, achieving great success as they made their return to the pinnacle of endurance racing after a 50-year hiatus in 2023. Behind the wheel of the 499P, Antonio clinched pole position for the team at the 1000 miles of Sebring and 24 hours of Le Mans – a race in which Ferrari also went on to win with the #51 car. Shell has extended its motorsport partnership with Ferrari, supporting the programme of the 499P Hypercar. Shell’s support for the Ferrari Hypercar programme involves supplying lubricants and coolants developed to optimise performance, reliability and durability. In addition to the potential transfer of technology from the track to the road, the technical and commercial partnership has a particular focus on sustainability. Ferrari will evaluate the supply of biofuels and other low-carbon solutions with the aim of decarbonising the broader operations of the Ferrari – AF Corse team, starting with logistics and generators. What is immersion cooling? With cloud computing, media streaming, and the explosive growth in AI, edge computing, and big data, society is demanding faster, more immediate access to information. This means that data centres are growing rapidly to deliver on that demand from consumers and businesses alike. The challenge? Data centres already account for roughly 1% of global electricity consumption – with more than a third of this power used for cooling electrical components. Data centres need more efficient, more climate-friendly ways to drive their operations. Full immersion in a thermally conductive, electrically non-conductive (dielectric) coolant is a highly efficient way to keep computer components cool. It can help to cut energy consumption massively and lower carbon dioxide emissions, while reducing costs and increasing location flexibility.
