A great turnout on the Quay this evening as New Ross business PN O'Gorman, led by the mother-son partnership of Anne and Philip Carton, celebrated its 100th anniversary. "Going once, going twice, sold!" has been a well used phrase throughout the town for a century, with the family establishing themselves as a pillar of the local business community. Their unique blend of expertise, professionalism, tradition, and local knowledge has enabled them to consistently deliver outstanding services to buyers and sellers, achieving the best results for all their clients. Anne returned to New Ross in 1979 after several years in Dublin to help her father run PN O'Gorman. Today, she and Philip are at the helm, having taken over from Anne’s parents, who acquired the business from PN's wife in the early 1950s. Like many family businesses, pinpointing their exact beginning is difficult, but their legacy is clear. Established in 1924, PN O'Gorman Ltd. has continuously adapted and overcome challenges to maintain a high level of excellence over the past century. They have become one of the most respected auctioneers and estate agents in the South East. In the sixties, the old bridge in New Ross closed to make way for a new one, necessitating a move to the other side of the river, directly opposite their original premises. Congratulations to Anne, Philip, and the entire team on reaching such an magnificent milestone. 👏👏

Edward “Teddy” Kennedy III visited his ancestral home over the weekend, following in the footsteps of his great-uncle, John F. Kennedy. His visit featured a reception at the Tholsel, a tour of the Dunbrody Famine Ship, which documents the journey of Irish emigrants to America, and a tree planting ceremony at the JFK Arboretum.

The €1 million regeneration project which transformed an old oil tank site along the River Barrow into a new park and promenade was officially opened - The Emigrant Park in New Ross was part-funded under the Government's Rural Regeneration and Development Fund as well as the Town Centre First policy and it is hoped it will provide a major boost to the town in terms of tourism as well as wider benefits for local people.
