Thousands of people have turned out for the opening day of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann which is being held in Wexford town. The event was officially opened by president Michael D Higgins.

Wexford Mayor George Lawlor officially opens the Crown Fleadh Village as Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann moves ever closer!! Spectators were treated to performances from Celtic Roots, Tulua, Borderline and more.

Ireland's and Europe's largest annual plein air festival got underway in Wexford town today - Art in the Open, now in its 17th year just keeps getting bigger and better by the year. The largest outdoor painting festival in Europe with over 200 artists, from 18 countries aiming to capture the picturesque landscapes of Wexford. There will be a Gala Exhibition at Green Acres next weekend where participants will showcase a collection of work completed - Participants will also engage in informal paint-outs and enjoy social activities over the week long festival as well as all the attractions of Wexford.

Wexford Golf has to be experienced, with some truly beautiful courses, where the charm and character comes out due to the heritage and history of the county. Tiernan Byrne of Club Choice Ireland took a look at Rosslare Golf Links. The course is one of only 50 Irish links courses and is the only true ‘links’ golf course in the South East of Ireland offering golfers of all abilities that unique links experience.
