Revisiting a favourite project from the archive: In 2018 we worked with an innovative ‘age in place’ charity to develop a digital strategy that helped untrained volunteer staff manage a range of service offerings simply, seamlessly and stress free. Mapping with the volunteers to understand how they work highlighted that each team had a pre-existing digital workflow for the various social media channels. Utilising these allowed us to design user journeys that connected with these via their website. Removing layers of unnecessary clicks, content management and communications processes. March 16th is digital declutter day 🎉 That’s a good idea, you might think, my desktop has become a bit of a mess. Or maybe you’re thinking, what is that and why would I bother? It turns out that our digital files, interactions and behaviours all have a physical environmental weight. And all those files on all those devices can add up very quickly. 3 years ago this insight blew our minds and we’ve been working on it ever since. We’ve an article that might provide some useful context, we’d love you to have a read. https://lnkd.in/emmFPVj4 And if you’ve some spare time let us know your thoughts, or even better do a bit of digital decluttering. Useful resources in the comments.

As part of a programme of strategic co-design we worked with The Abbey Theatre to rethink how Ireland’s national theatre interacts in a digital world. Research and mapping helped us build a holistic picture of key organisational dynamics, and shifting audience expectations. Helping us understand how to balance history and custodianship with agility and ambition in order to deliver meaningful outcomes for a diverse range of stakeholders. Recent work klaxon 📢 🚨 We had the real pleasure of working with an organisation we've long admired -Science Gallery International We supported them as they prepare for their next chapter, continuing to expand their international art-science eco system. 🧬 🌎 With such an innovative model and approach, after 10 years how it worked had changed considerably. We helped them explore ways to evolve the model in order to support their growth. 🔬 🔭 Read more about it here — https://lnkd.in/ggeSZxRA

"I think it’s easy as a new designer to question the value you bring to a more experienced team. From the beginning of the program though, my opinion and my input was always valued." For about the last 3 years we have run something called the Wove Graduate Programme, where we bring on board a recently graduated multidisciplinary designer and work with them for 3 months. Every year we're amazed by how good these young people are. They’re competent, considerate, open minded and hard working. And working with them makes the rest of the team, better. Going through the B Lab certification process, and joining this movement, really makes you stop and think about where your business is excelling, and where it could do with some…improvement 😅 In line with our B Corp commitments, we produce an annual ‘Impact Report’ that outlines clearly our goals, what we have achieved to date, and our objectives for the future. The first of these is available to see here - https://lnkd.in/eWZBM4hR Check back next year to see how we did

"It’s maybe a little bit like committing to do a marathon. Maybe for some reason you can’t complete the actual race. But the process of training for it is an achievement in its own right. And if you get to complete the race or get B Corp certified, that’s just the icing on the cake." Johnny Kelly, Managing Director and co-founder of wove.co and aad reflects on why we chose to join the B Lab Europe community and our journey so far. Read it here https://lnkd.in/gcvWT565

What is B Corp? Good Question! While established in 2006 B Corp is relatively new to Ireland but you might have come across it before through sustainably minded brands like Patagonia. In short, it’s a global movement of businesses committed to transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. It was established with the idea that a different kind of economy was not only possible, but necessary — and that business could lead the way towards a shift in our global economy from a system that profits few to one that benefits all. By promoting a new model balance profit-making with a commitment to doing good for people and the planet To receive a B Corp certification companies must demonstrate a high social and environmental performance under five areas, Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. We’re delighted to be a part of B Corp Ireland’s, launched only this year, and to be one of the first of (hopefully) many Irish businesses to get B Corp certification.
