A Bright Future Ahead for Frontier Portfolio Company AgriLight!  AGRILIGHT Energy, a Start AgriTech Cohort II Graduate, is an innovative Israeli #agrivoltaic #startup that optimizes solar radiation to meet #agricultural crop needs while maximizing #electricity production.  Recently, the startup launched its first pilot with the support of Ramat Negev Research Center. This agrivoltaic project utilizes patented two-axis #solar #technology on a rail system to move solar panels horizontally above a vineyard in the #Negev Desert.   After the #pilot, scheduled until August 2024, proves successful, AgriLight plans to establish commercial projects in Israel and Spain next year, along with more pilots in Europe, the United States, and Africa.  “Agri-Light's solution addresses the conflict of balancing the necessary sunlight for crops and solar panels,” said AgriLight CEO, Udi Wild. “It enables more comfortable plant growth conditions – reducing the temperature in extreme and prolonged weather conditions, protecting against hail and frost, and saving irrigation water due to reduced evaporation."  We are proud to support AgriLight’s innovative approach to regenerative agriculture and plant shading.
