About us
EGM's Meta-Alert solution provides the information necessary to deliver electricity at the lowest possible cost - safely and reliably. EGM sensors measure dozens of electrical, physical and environmental parameters from across the Transmission & Distribution networks in real-time with industry-leading precision. The sensors analyze this time-synchronized data by continuously looking for fault locations, voltage irregularities, pre-failure signature, theft and dangerous situations across the grid. The EGM solutions help reduce SAIDI and SAIFI, mitigate wildfire risk and improve grid reliability and resiliency.

Do you know what the band Coldplay, electric vehicles and #powergrid flexibility have in common? The band has been powering its gigs partly from power bikes in the crowd. This highlights the potential of Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technologies where electric vehicles could sell surplus power to the grid during the 95% of their useful lives that they spend parked. This could dramatically boost grid flexibility. Yet connecting millions of 'batteries on wheels' to our grids will introduce new challenges around everything from frequency to voltage fluctuations, which require advanced real-time monitoring and predictive capabilities across distribution networks. Find out more about how third-gen #gridmonitoring systems are preparing utilities for this challenge here: https://lnkd.in/eNS4aZfH #SmartGrids #EVs #VehicleToGrid

It's not just our athletes but our grids suffering heat stress with extreme heat driving record-breaking electricity demand in Texas this summer. Key to weathering the heatwaves has been a flexible, smart grid that can switch between a variety of clean power sources at different times of day from solar in daylight to batteries after dark. Coping with extreme weather will require flexible grids such as those in Texas, with the ability to predict the cheapest and most plentiful green power sources at all times and locations. They should even scale up capacity when cooler temperatures allow lines to safely carry more current.
