Keshet Germany is producing the first local adaptation of Keshet’s comedy MESSIAH (Mashiach) - for ProSiebenSat.1's JOYN! Set to feature cameos by a host of retro Euro pop stars, the 8×25’ series is a sitcom about a one-hit wonder 1990s pop star who plans to relaunch his music career. It stars Florian Lukas (Die Wespe) as Thomas Janowski, aka Messiah, who scored a chart-topper with Eurodance anthem XTC 29 years ago but is now running his mother’s restaurant and living off his former glories. Can he stage the most unlikely of comebacks? Filming begins in Prague this week, with MESSIAH slated to premiere on JOYN in 2025. Maya and Itay Regev attended The News & Documentary Emmy Awards held in New York, alongside their father Ilan and documentary filmmaker Yoram Zak - their UVDA film "Sister and Brother in Hamas in Captivity" for Keshet 12 was nominated for the Best Current Affairs Program. Ahead of the News & Documentary International Emmy Awards, siblings Itay and Maya Regev arrived in New York for a Q&A screening of their nominated documentary "Sister and Brother in Hamas Captivity" with the UVDA film's director Yoram Zak, their father Ilan, and fellow Hamas captivity survivor Noa Argamani. Arranged by the Israeli Consulate in New York, the film was screened at the Jewish National Fund - USA headquarters, in the presence of Israel's consul in New York, Ofir Akunis. UVDA's film represents Israel in the current affairs category at the News & Documentary International Emmy Awards, after Itay and Maya's testimonies of abduction and life in captivity made headlines globally, as part of Keshet's public diplomacy project. I’ve just wrapped up an unforgettable two-week business trip across Bangkok and Mumbai! 🌏 This journey was not only about reconnecting with colleagues and friends I’ve worked with for the past three years but also about expanding horizons and exploring new opportunities in two of the most dynamic markets in the TV industry. From meaningful meetings with long-time partners to forging relationships with new clients, I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to represent Keshet International and dive deep into the unique challenges and trends shaping these vibrant regions. The experience allowed me to gain invaluable insights into the local TV industry, helping us to better understand how to grow and succeed in these markets.
