Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting H.E. Journes Fredericès, Ambassador of France to Israel, at Sheba Medical Center. In an inspiring session led by Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General, and Prof. Eyal Zimlichman, MD, Chief Transformation and Innovation Officer, we explored how our ARC Innovation Center is revolutionizing healthcare through digital transformation and entrepreneurship. From pioneering ventures like Datos Health to our cutting-edge rehabilitation technologies, the visit showcased the incredible potential for French-Israeli collaboration in advancing global healthcare solutions. A highlight was our "Returning to Life" program at the Integrated Rehabilitation Hospital, where Maya Erlich demonstrated how innovation is transforming patient recovery journeys. This strategic dialogue marks another step forward in our shared commitment to shaping tomorrow's medical landscape. In a historic meeting at the Vatican, Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, Director General of Sheba Medical Center, and Yoel Har-Even, VP of Global Affairs, met Pope Francis alongside Alon Kaminer, a wounded soldier in Sheba’s care. The Pope, moved by Sheba’s compassionate mission, blessed Alon and commended Sheba's role as a bridge for peace and healing. On October 7th, the people of Israel united in an extraordinary show of solidarity. Among them was Dr. Liran Levy, Medical Director of the Lung Transplant Program at Sheba Medical Center, who volunteered as a combat doctor, risking his life to save others amid the chaos of bullets flying overhead. On the battlefield, Dr. Levy treated young soldiers not just as patients, but as if they were his own children and friends. “These kids were able to get into my heart,” says Dr. Levy. Dr. Levy’s dedication helped countless soldiers recover from severe injuries, including performing two life-saving lung transplant surgeries.
