The Isle of Man TT Races are pleased to announce the return of the Classic TT, set to ignite a sense of nostalgia all around the famous TT Mountain Course in August 2025. Taking inspiration from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, the Classic TT promises to be a celebration of motorcycle racing heritage, paying homage to the legendary riders and iconic machines that shaped these golden eras of TT racing. First staged between 2013 and 2019, the much-loved Classic TT was the world's foremost classic motorcycle race attracting the best teams, the most exotic machinery and the fastest modern day TT competitors. Legends such as John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, Bruce Anstey and Michael Rutter are just some of the riders to have enjoyed success at the Classic TT. With races for 1990s Superbikes, two stroke Grand Prix machines and historic racing bikes from the 1960s and 70s, fans of the Classic TT can look forward to a spectacular event designed to evoke fond memories of the great riders and machines that left an indelible mark on TT history and who ruled the Mountain Course during these periods. Qualifying for the Classic TT will get underway from Wednesday 20th August 2025, with a five race schedule set to take place over Wednesday 27th August and Friday 29th August. Racing for the Classic TT will start with a bang on the opening day with three races scheduled starting with the Formula 1 TT Race, followed by the Lightweight TT Race and then the Historic Junior TT Race. Friday the 29th August, will open with the prestigious Historic Senior TT Race, with a second Superbike outing - the Senior Classic TT Race - bringing the curtain down on the high speed Mountain Course action. 📢 Introducing...the 'Big Blue Bag' initiative 🌊 We're excited to announce a new partnership with renowned TV broadcaster and marine biologist, Monty Halls! Monty Halls, best known for his work in highlighting the importance of marine conservation and the wonders of the ocean, has become an official ambassador for Visit Isle of Man and will work closely with us to champion the Island’s natural beauty, rich marine ecosystems and UNESCO Biosphere status through his new initiative which is focused on marine conservation.   The new initiative, the ‘Big Blue Bag’, has been designed to encourage individuals of all ages to directly engage with and contribute in a meaningful way to the conservation of the UK’s coasts and shallow seas. This partnership marks a significant step in furthering the Isle of Man’s reputation as a destination that values sustainability and environmental stewardship - with support from our partners at UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man and Manx Wildlife Trust. Commenting on the news, Monty said: ‘I am thrilled to become an ambassador for Visit Isle of Man. The Isle of Man holds a special place in my heart with its extraordinary coastlines and deep-rooted connection to the sea. As the world’s first entire nation UNESCO Biosphere, the Island’s commitment to balancing the needs of its communities, economy and environment aligns perfectly with my own values. It’s a place where conservation and sustainability are at the forefront, and I’m proud to be working alongside such a forward-thinking destination to promote the protection of our natural world.   ‘The support of Visit Isle of Man, Biosphere Isle of Man and Manx Wildlife Trust has been instrumental in bringing this concept to life. The ‘Big Blue Bag’ initiative is about empowering individuals to engage with the marine environment and take simple yet effective steps to help protect it. We hope that through this partnership we can encourage other coastal communities around the UK to take ownership of their marine environment.’ The 'Big Blue Bag' will officially launch in Spring 2025 - learn more about it in the below promo video, or read our latest article: https://lnkd.in/erJcUymH #ExtraordinaryIsle #marineconservation #sustainabletourism

"The most beautiful place in the world to ride a bike." When local legend Sir Mark Cavendish MBE returned to the Isle of Man last week for a special homecoming, the Island's residents came together to offer the Manx Missile a warm Manx welcome 🚀 It’s our sense of community and friendship that Sir Mark loves most about the Island – and cycling terrain where legends are made from! From scenic coastal roads to challenging hill climbs, there isn’t a road on this Island that Sir Mark hasn’t ridden. And whilst his passion and talent has taken him all around the world, becoming the most successful rider in Tour de France history, there’s no place like home. A cyclist’s delight and the birthplace of a sporting hero…this is our Extraordinary Isle. #ExtraordinaryIsle
