As a result of a collaborative effort, the CSR Committee and Women’s Council of #AllegionIndia successfully organized a #cervical and #breastcancer screening initiative in partnership with the RK Foundation at Hadripura, Chickkaballapura. This initiative was designed to provide vital health screenings for women, aiming to detect early signs of cervical and breast cancer, which are among the most common cancers affecting women today. The event saw an inspiring and robust turnout, with 54 women from the community participating in this crucial health screening. This level of participation underscores the importance and necessity of such health initiatives in our communities. It was heartening to see the women come forward, understanding the significance of early detection and proactive health management. The success of this initiative can be attributed to the selfless dedication and tireless efforts of the volunteers and organizers. The #CSR Committee and Women’s Council members worked diligently to ensure that the event was well-organized and that all participants felt comfortable and supported throughout the screening process. Their #commitment to the cause has not only made this initiative possible but also impactful, leaving a lasting impression on the community. To address #WorldMentalHealthDay as an opportunity to identify the growing sphere around the unsound mental state and the will to accept it as an ailment requiring attention, we invited the Health & Wellness Committee of #AllegionIndia to share their take on #MentalHealth and what they are doing to combat it. Every home and office has a first aid box, and most people are aware of what to do in case there is any injury or ailment in the body. In contrast, most people are not aware of what mental health problems they are going through, what are the symptoms of such problems and what tools to use to alleviate themselves. In such a scenario it becomes vitally important to understand mental health, learn about tools that can help us be mentally fit, and how to reach out when help is needed. The #Health and #Wellness Committee understands that mental health can only be handled holistically. A fit mind can only thrive in a fit body. Hence, we strive to focus on various aspects which lead to physical, emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Some examples of our activities are: We offer #Yoga, #meditation, and #mindfulness sessions that provide employees with techniques to manage their minds. We arrange fun group activities like weekend treks and cycling, allowing employees to enjoy nature and bond with friends. We host health talks and webinars featuring experts who provide insights into mental and physical well-being. The committee strives to impart employees with various activities, insights, and tools that empower them to handle their mental well-being effectively. We hope that this day of #2024 will open more doors to comfortable discussions on mental health as a cause of concern. It’s about time, isn’t it? My emotions toward #travel, #exploration, and #adventure are optimistic yet very flexible. I happily inherit the emotion of my favorite travel author(s) from Top Gear UK “Still, could be Worse” which helps me to continue with what I did not plan to and still get out what I wanted😊. I tend not to research my destination. I start with the basics, like general weather information, and then do a quick scan on Google Earth. I use aggregators to find the flight's cheapest days or even change the destination to fit the budget. Aside from the places themselves, food, art, markets, and people are my main influencers. Time—both in terms of duration and visiting places often and at different times—has turned out to be a great teacher. I would want to travel a lot, however, there are responsibilities to a grown man which I am happy for too, so I try to blend them both in all the possible moments. I try to have several small getaways and at least a couple of big ones a year – no specific pattern but just listening to oneself and being aware of things has helped a lot in decisions. On the personal front, I am blessed to have family and friends who too take pleasure in traveling. On the professional front, my tenure at #Allegion has afforded me the opportunity to travel to various office locations and engage with people from diverse backgrounds. These experiences have allowed me to connect with peers, understand different cultures, and expand my network, significantly broadening my perspective. As I conclude this brief account of my travel experiences, I want to share an important message with everyone. Let's strive to be responsible travelers who respect local cultures, preserve natural and historical landmarks, and support local communities.
