Appreciation is the currency of motivation. 5 compelling reasons to thank your team first: 1. Psychologically, being appreciated makes you want to work harder. When you feel appreciated you: ◦ work more independently ◦ are more resilient to obstacles ◦ are more innovative ◦ improve team dynamics ◦ help others more 2. Celebrating small victories leads to big victories. Positive reinforcement leads to a sense of accomplishment. The more we celebrate wins, no matter how small, the more likely we are to work harder and achieve large goals. 3. The pressure to perform diminishes when appreciation is expressed. When a team feels like they're expected to perform without recognition, they can: ◦ experience fatigue ◦ lack motivation ◦ become overwhelmed ◦ feel under-appreciated 4. Expressing appreciation increases retention rates and satisfaction levels. People want to stay in jobs where they are appreciated and fulfilling their purpose. Appreciation takes minimal effort but has long term positive impacts. 5. Expressing appreciation increases the quality of work. When employees are happy, they enjoy their work, which leads to: ◦ creativity ◦ innovation ◦ better customer service ◦ pride in their work ◦ high-quality output In conclusion, appreciation is a key element to creating a motivated and productive team. Don't underestimate the positive impact of saying "thank you." ------------------------------------------------- DM me if you're the original owner of this image for credits. ------------------------------------------------- Follow me Dan Murray-Serter 🧠 for more on habits and leadership. ♻️ Repost this if you think it can help someone in your network! 🖐️ P.S Join my newsletter The Science Of Success where I break down stories and studies of success to teach you how to turn it from probability to predictability here: https://lnkd.in/ecuRJtrr

I did about 50 cold calls last week and this is my takeaway. First, let’s talk about cold calls for a bit. In an effort to get a few fresh faces on my list of social media clients, I decided it was time I gave cold calling a chance. It has always been something I scorned for two simple reasons- I didn’t feel confident enough for it & I don’t enjoy being cold-called, so I assumed who would? People who want growth would. With that answered it was about confidence. Watched a few videos, wrote a few scripts and what-if scenarios (will explain them in later posts), took the phone and started dialing. Key takeaways: 1. Get ready for rejection: Actually, rejection is just the tip of the iceberg. I faced wrong numbers, prospects cancelling the call right to my face, abuses, etc. Accept that you’ll face these before you start calling to avoid self-retrospection in between calls. 2. No one indeed enjoys cold calls: That’s partly because no one wants to listen to yet another person talking about their services. Be upfront that this is a cold call instead of beating around the bush and explain how you believe you can add value to their business. 3. Success sounds great: When you connect with the right person who can envision the future you show them, it feels like a big boulder has been lifted from your shoulders. Use this opportunity well and show them how you will improve their existing systems.  4. Never give a price: Why? Because it’s illogical to give a quote before knowing fully what they want and how you’re going to achieve it. Instead, schedule a longer call that will dive into their requirements and your strategy. 5. No could be a Yes: The first client I converted from these calls started by saying, “I don’t think we can waste marketing money on social media”. If they seem reasonable, ask them why they’re saying ‘No’. Avoid persuading with empty promises, instead approach with logic. 6. Know when you’re beaten: I read articles and watched videos where they underlined the importance of never giving up. In my case, I didn’t have the luxury of time and resources to follow up on one prospect 20 times and convert their ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’. If you’re in the same situation, know when to pull out of a deal. #coldcalls #smallbusinessowner #socialmediamarketingagency #takeaways #observation

IT firm Hexaware Technologies is hiring 4,000 employees this year. It's a great headline, but here's why you should move with caution as an employee. Companies like Unacademy too hired in bulk when they needed. Unfortunately, they had multiple rounds of layoffs since 2022. Upon further reading this article, https://lnkd.in/gqmRwsdW We found they are focusing on profiles like tech leads and automation testing specialists; both expected with the rise of AI & automation. Time has given us enough proof that this rise will eventually mellow down. So what happens when it hits a plateau? You guessed it, "Unfortunately, the company has decided that your job role isn't needed anymore" -HR Now we're not saying that this is 100% what will happen in Hexaware (or similar companies that are hiring big). But, we'd like to ask you to do your prior research. Dive into LinkedIn, Glassdoor and other review platforms. Observe how they have been treating their staff. Ask previous employees about their experience working there, etc. Big packages aside, your mental peace depends on your daily decisions. #hiringissues #mentalhealth #growth #layoff

Working as a pet parent is all about figuring out the answer to one simple question- Who’s the boss? (the answer won’t surprise you, it’s OBVIOUSLY them!) Let me break down the pros & cons. Pros: 1. A soothing presence: If you crave a relaxing work environment, they are exactly what you need to be around. Just knowing that they are around creates a sense of serenity. 2. Positivity all around: The joy of looking at them out of nowhere during your 3-second breaks and finding them starting at you lovingly is something I cannot explain in words! 3. A cute distraction: Sometimes we get a tad too into work and too much of anything isn’t good. They take care of that by distracting you, either by a gentle meow or shoving their face right into yours! 4. Stress buster: Be it a frustrating call with a client or the stress of meeting an unexpected deadline, I always find myself lifting her up and asking “Why are they like this?” This stops me from acting rashly as I am back to my normal self after eyeing her expression. Cons: 1. Meows during meetings: Sometimes she’s an angel, just sits and observes. Other times she meows, RIGHT INTO THE MICROPHONE. On retrospection, that last one’s cute, so not a con. Basically no cons. In a nutshell, keep your pet around when you’re working, you’ll thank me later. #smallbusinessowner #petparent #fun #spreadingpositivity

Q&A time! I’ve got this question a hundred times so here’s the answer once and for all. Organic marketing is not dead, it never can be. It just demands a tad more attention to detail. Let me elaborate. Markets today are saturated, be it content, services or products. Whatever you’re looking at, there’s a high chance someone already did it before or is doing it today (with a head start over you). Pressured by this, most businesses and individuals flock to the instant relief of paid marketing. Organic marketing today is like a slow-cooked meal 🍵 . It demands your time, effort and attentiveness. The key is finding the sweet spot between these three things 1) What the audience wants 2) Where your expertise lie 3) Platform guidelines The last point is something to keep in mind at all times. All platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Google, etc) have their own set of do’s and don’ts. Adhering to those while posting and staying active gives a natural boost to your efforts. Drop a follow if you found this useful and would like to know more about similar topics. #organicmarketing #myth #debunk #smma

Layoffs like these don't come as a surprise anymore. As unfortunate as it is, this trickles down to the lack of planning. The need for employees for a new project pushes companies to bulk hire but they rarely know how to handle the situation in the future. Our recommendation? Switch to companies after prior research on their work culture. Ask around, visit Glassdoor (or similar platforms), look at their employees on LinkedIn (keep an eye on how long on average do the employees stay there). Stop running after big names, every one of you is priceless. Don't settle for less! #unacademy #layoff #layoffculture #corporateproblems #corporateculture #employee

The Pressure of the First Post 😨 “It’s a fresh start, my first post will make or break EVERYTHING” - a scared agency owner. To a newbie, LinkedIn looks like a platform on a different planet. The success stories of random people, the rise of former colleagues to great heights, and startups breaking the ceiling that no one thought would ever break, are all amazing and scary at the same time. They have so many connections, numerous likes & comments, what chance does someone like me have? Who is late to LinkedIn? I conducted months of research, came up with ideas (24 to be exact) and finally gave into overthinking. If this post doesn’t get me a good start, it will be months wasted! However, after a long call with my wise mother, I decided, this is my first post. I won’t talk about my 7+ years of experience, I won’t talk about the businesses I’ve helped 10x their reach, I won’t talk about my excitement to make it big and make my parents proud. I will talk about how scary this was. This was tough, I hope you guys accept me and give my baby (Atrangi Marketer) a fair shot on this hyper-competitive platform. Hi to all, here I am. 🤘 #smma #newjourney #socialmediamarketing #contentmarketing #growthservices
