An Indian Composite Textile Mill consumes almost 1.6 Million Liters of fresh water daily. Any idea how many people could use 1.6 Million liters of fresh water? 2 Lakh! This industry alone is responsible for nearly 20% of the world’s wastewater. It’s a growing problem that we just can’t ignore. Some might say that we should shut down the industries! Well, the industry contributes 2.3% to India’s GDP, 13% to industrial production and 12% to exports. Not only this, the textile industry has around 45 million of workers employed in the sector. So let’s move towards thinking about a suitable sustainable solution - Biochar! In simple terms, Biochar is the carbon-rich solid product solid material obtained from the thermochemical conversion of biomass. Here are some ways in which biochar will help the textile industry achieve net zero & help the environment. 1. Waste Reduction: Organic waste, such as cotton remnants and dyed fibers can be converted into biochar. This process not only reduces waste but also turns it into a useful product that contributes to carbon sequestration. 2. Water Filtration and Reuse: Biochar can be used to filter and purify wastewater, making it reusable. Even if a mill reduces its dependency on freshwater by 10% (1.6 Lakh Liters daily), it would easily save more than INR 25 Lakh yearly. 3. Soil Amendment: Biochar can also be used as a soil amendment in cotton farming. It improves soil fertility and water retention, reducing the need for chemical fertilizers and irrigation. This can lead to lower emissions from fertilizer production and less energy use for irrigation purposes. It’s not that hard to get your hands on Biochar! We BlueEarth manufacture biochar, offer technology for producing it and assist in the generation of carbon credits based on biochar. Let’s help you do what you do best - all while respecting the boundaries of the earth! #Biochar #SustainableSolutions #CarbonNeutral #Textile #CarbonSequestration #ClimateChange

Combatting climate change requires innovative solutions to address the environmental impact of plastic waste, one of the major contributors to global warming. Plastic credits offer a promising approach to reducing plastic waste by assigning a positive value to the reduction or elimination of plastic. It works by providing businesses and organizations with credits for reducing their plastic consumption or waste, which can be purchased by other companies. This approach encourages plastic reduction, encourages a circular economy and reduces landfill waste. Additionally, it can help in creating a more sustainable business model, increase recycling rates, and create new jobs. Plastic credits have the potential to raise awareness helping in reducing the over-dependence on plastic and influence individuals in making more sustainable choices. While plastic credits are not a substitute for a more comprehensive climate change strategy, they can play a significant role in reducing plastic waste and promoting a cleaner, more sustainable planet. #SaveEarth #ProtectEnviornment #SustainableSolutions #PlasticCredits
