In his editorial Sunil talks about the importance of mental health at the leadership level which cannot be overstated. Yet, executive loneliness often remains a neglected issue. Psychological distress is a universal experience that doesn’t discriminate based on position. Whether staff, manager, or leader, every individual requires psychological safety. Companies must give sufficient attention to this issue, particularly at the C-suite and board level. “Psychological distress is an equal opportunity victimiser”. Furthermore he says that addressing executive loneliness and psychological distress requires a multifaceted approach. Organisations should implement regular mental health check-ins, offer flexible working arrangements, and encourage work-life balance. Providing opportunities for executives to engage in activities outside of work can also help alleviate stress and promote a healthier lifestyle.
