We're thrilled to share that Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur held its 6th Convocation Ceremony on September 27th, 2024. During this event, we were honored by the presence of Hon'ble Chancellor and Governor UP Anandiben Patel, Director IIT Kanpur Padma Shri prof. Manindra Agrawal, Hon'ble Vice-chancellor HBTU prof. Samsher and university faculties. A total of 83 chemical engineering students along with 816 other students of undergraduate, PG, and doctoral courses were conferred with degrees. We congratulate Mr. Shivanshu Kushwaha (GET - Reliance Industries Limited, ChE'24) for being awarded with Chancellor's silver and VC's gold medal, Ms. Sneha Agarwal (Research Technologist - ExxonMobil, ChE'24) for being awarded with VC's silver medal, and Mr. Prashant Kumar (GET - Reliance Industries Limited, ChE'24) for being awarded with VC's bronze medal. We recently had the pleasure of hosting an insightful session with one of our esteemed alumni Mr. Amit Misra (Head TQM at UPL) of 2008 batch. He shared his vast knowledge and multi - disciplinary experience with us. During the session, he interacted with students and discussed about various disciplines that chemical engineering students can explore. Concluding his talk, Mr. Amit Misra emphasized on higher studies and encouraged students to build leadership skills and take on managerial roles. Mr. Srivastava shared his remarkable journey from a chemical engineer to a management consultant, offering invaluable insights into the consulting and management fields. He discussed the evolving chemical industry, the role of an MBA in engineering careers, and the importance of timing in career transitions. He also emphasized the value of long-term commitment to a company, highlighting how staying with an organization can foster personal growth and trust, rather than frequently switching jobs. His key message? Attitude is everything. Your attitude determines your growth within a company and how far you can go. He also shared career advice and motivational insights that left our students deeply inspired.
