@CII Southern Region organized the 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 – 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, on 11 March at Chennai, bringing together women leaders to discuss opportunities for strengthening bilateral economic ties, with a special focus on trade, investment, and womens’ leadership between India and Australia. 𝐌𝐬 𝐌 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐢, Co-Chair, Women's Leadership Forum, chaired the session, highlighting the strengthening collaboration between India and Australia and the crucial role of women in shaping economic partnerships. 𝐌𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐢 𝐙𝐚𝐤𝐢, Consul General, Australian Consulate – Chennai, presented the recently released New Road Map report, for Australia’s Economic Engagement with India, saying, Australia sees India as a crucial partner in our long-term economic growth strategy with the New Road Map providing a clear direction for accelerating bilateral trade and investments. 𝐌𝐬 Jodi McKay, Director, Business Council of Australia (BCA), recalled the MoU signed between CII and BCA at the India CEO Forum 2023 saying, encouraging more women leaders to participate in the forum. 𝐌𝐬 Nashid Chowdhury, Investment and Trade Commissioner, India-Gulf, Government of Western Australia highlighted the recent study with India Energy Storage Alliance on processing and supply of critical minerals to India. 𝐌𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐥𝐢 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐣, Principal, International Trade Policy, CII highlighted the benefits of trade liberalization, increased market access, and investment growth for both nations while, 𝐌𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐚 𝐊𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐯 𝐉𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐧, Chairwoman, CII IWN Tamil Nadu, stressed on the importance of women entrepreneurs being aware of CEPA and ECTA to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
