    How to identify brands with great culture ? More people who are switching jobs are preferring brands with good #culture. Last year on a trip to Sikkim, I met a girl had been just laid off from an renowned Indian startup company. As we were talking, she asked me how the culture at my firm was, to which I replied "It is decent". And she very confidently said that her firm had a great culture, offered free food, fancy office, macbooks and huge esops. But what’s the point of a great culture if the firm overhires, overpays, and then fires? This discussion lead to us discussing that, there are 2 types of brands - 1.⁠ ⁠Who talk about culture on social media 2.⁠ ⁠Who really build it And both are mutually exclusive. From my experience working with various brands, brands like American Express & Tata Group carrying strong cultures rarely broadcast it. Culture is a result of a million small actions that you do on a day to day basis. Brands who are struggling with culture tend to do all things about having : • culture hand book • culture goals • culture officer It is like improving SEO on Culture. Real culture is built quietly, through everyday actions over the years, not through titles or buzzwords. To me, the real test of Culture is - When employees leave and still talk about the brand positively, and recommend your brand both as an employeer and as a product. That’s when you know you’ve built something lasting. As I think about culture at DAiOM, one question I am still struggling to answer .
